Today was a great day!
Saw a nursing home client this morning...her feet were in such bad shape. I washed and soaked them and worked off all of the dead skin exfoliating them from neglect. IT took a long time and was not comfortable for her but she was very happy with me when we were finished. They looked pretty too! Orange polish!
Had seared tuna for lunch with kale, squash, and beets at the health food store. Jeff is still on spring break so he joined the lunch bunch today.
The meal was delicious!
Got my teeth cleaned and the dentist filed down some teeth in the front because they were jagged so am grateful to him. I told the hygienist about how anxious I was at getting my teeth cleaned, I go every 4 months and it only takes her 20 minutes.
I have excellent teeth, not any fillings but have a few uneven teeth. She thinks I might grind my teeth. maybe. I did not tell her that she is kind of rough and my gums are sensitive. I am anxious because of her! I go there because they give me a discount for paying in cash. It only costs me $50 for a cleaning. They don't make me have xrays and if I choose to have them then my bill is $100 total. The dentist examines me once a year, no extra charge.
I don't know what other place would let me do this so I put up with the anxiety.

Saw 3 more clients.
Lovely older folks....one is so young acting and inspirational. We talk about organic foods etc.
Love my job, can't say it enough, so grateful for being employed.


Came home from work, Jeff and I went to dinner at dwights for crawfish and char broiled oysters. I had my usual crawfish ettoufee over steamed veggies in a casserole dish called max's special and jeff had 3 pounds of boiled crawfish which he said they were big so not as many and less work peeling them. He really enjoyed them and I loved my meal!
I was stuffed!
(I asked him to remind me to not eat the whole wheat crackers before dinner! He agreed).

90 minutes later I went to the gym and walked for 5 min at 3.5 mph then jogged/walked for 2 min/1 min intervals for 55 minutes for a total of 4.5 miles in 60 minutes then cooled down for 5 more min. my heart rate got up to 160 bpm which was great and I really sweat! so I know that I got a good work out! I had to give myself pep talks to continue but it felt good pushing myself. I could never have done this had I been drinking.

after gym at 10pm:
(fit bit totals for the day: 13324 steps, 6.57 miles, 2136 calories)

Red face sort of survived a dinner party.

We went to a dinner party.
There were about 10 of us there.
Right away they wanted to give us alcohol...I told the hostess Molly that I was not drinking and would like some hot tea. So she put some water to boil they don't have a microwave.
They served delicious food. guacamole, salsa, 2 halves of Twice baked sweet potatoes covered with cheese. I ate shredded pork, spicy beans, and finally a piece of ice cream cake. I drank about 3-4 cups of hot tea over the course of an hour...
I am so full.
Was having a very nice time even chit chatted with a couple of people that I did not know until they brought out the "card game".
I immediately got uncomfortable/anxious then found out the game had lewd components, making jokes about male anatomy. etc....
Nope was not going to be able to stay.
So we left abruptly. Sorry I am such a prude. I know that jeff would have liked to have stayed.
Took some of the sweet potatoes home too.
Bonus!
It is almost 10 and I have to work tomorrow.
I am so full and have hardly walked any miles today.
fit bit: 3627 steps,1.52 miles, 1564 calories
I am sure that I ate 1500 calories tonight!
anyway I managed to remain AF and that was the goal. So what I ate too much. oh well. It is not going to ruin my diet.
I just hope that I can sleep tonight!

Well ....
I made it 3 days off the internet.
Better than none.
I can't believe I just said to my husband that "I am going to be alcohol free until july 11th when we start our vacation."
He gave me a thumbs up and said "I'll drink to that"

I jogged/walked 4.6 miles in an hour wednesday night. That is a 13 minute mile. My friend told me I could run a marathon with that time. I was exhausted after that hour. I was jogging 3 minutes at 5mph then walking 1 minute at 3.5mph. I am training to run a 10 K in november. I have only started jogging a few weeks. It is hard work and I sweat so much and my heart rate is 160 and my face turns beet red.
IT is very gratifying to have a goal like this, something to work for.
My weight was 144 this morning. October 1st 2014 I weighed that.
Having yo yo'd 20 pounds in 6 months time is awful! I am sick of it!
I hope to never do this again as it is so hard on my body. And the weight that I have lost is mostly from upper body and waist but some on the hips but none on the thighs! They say the the thighs are the hardest to lose and I believe that!
I have to repeat myself and say that I could have never lost this weight had I not been alcohol free.
It is 85 days today. IT is funny. I just counted the days to july 11th=84 days So I am half way there! and the total will be 169 days...(the longest streak I did before that was 165 days over a year ago.)
july 11th is also my goal weight date to lose 9 more pounds and I will be135 pounds.
If I keep jogging I will surely lose more weight in my hips and thighs right?
I have to be careful with this dieting/exercising thing. 4 years ago I got down to 122 pounds and looked terrible. I am 5'7". I still looked fat from the waist down though I looked emaciated from the waist up. I am sure there is some sort of word for that....body dysmorphia????
1st goal is to be AF for 169 days ending july 11th the start of our vacation. (Half way there!)
2nd goal is to lose 9 more pounds by july 11th. (20 pounds gone for good this time)
3rd goal is to run the 10K cajun cup in November. (I made it 4.6 miles in an hour, a good start!)
4th goal is to stay sane while reaching toward my goals.

Best of luck to you Bizi but I don't think you need luck. You have a plan and you've already proved that it's working!

I'm living in relative chaos right now but once I get through April (Canadian tax deadline is April 30 and I'm a bookkeeper), it should settle down. I need to get serious about my weight too.

You're an inspiration to all of us.

hi carol thanks for writing and for your very encouraging support.
Good luck with your dead lines of tax day.
here in the states we just had our tax dead line...paid my taxes etc. Used an online tool called tax act .com. Makes it so simple.
So you are good with numbers.
I am lousy.
I can never get my check book right. I looked at it the other day and found a 2500$ error, in my favor. but it is still off by $2K in my favor.
I don't have a clue when that happened and for how long it has been this way. I have never reconciled my check book...just make sure we have all of the debited things entered like ATM withdrawls. All of our bills are auto payed thru the checking account which makes that easy and never have to worry about a late payment etc.
sigh hubby is worse.
I am going to leave the extra money in the account for emergencies and pretend it is not there...again never have to worry about bouncing a check. We do use credit cards to pay for food, grocery stores all purchase because we earn cash back of 1.5%. So that is thousands of dollars but that is also set up to be paid in full each month. Nice earning some money on our monies when interest rates are horrible here on our savings account. .01%.
How are interest rates there? should I invest in canadian stocks?
