Thinking of you Judy. Is it this week when you start the new meds and radiation?

Yeah, that's what I think she said. What's the word, dear Judy?

I'm going to try for a nap today, this time I'm turning off the bloody phone! It's another nice day in MI, this has been such a nice summer here. I was remembering how miserable it was every single day last summer, it helps me keep my perspective in order!

glad the weather's been nice for you cindy.
it's been real rainy here for a few days but we very much needed the moisture. and it's been cooler. i love that. heating back up to 80 tomorrow but that's a lot better than 98.

i stayed in today. read the paper and pretty much did nothing. my housekeeper came which is always good.

this wk wed i see the radiation oncologist. and next wk i start the radiation. that's what i've been told anyway. don't start the tamoxifen til the end of radiation. i'll know more on wed when i see the dr.

wish me luck. i'm a little nervous, just a little tho.

JUDY!!!! I hope you can forgive me for being away so long. I'm improving and feel like I can sit at the PC now. Also, I had to have my laptop revamped, so I was offline for a few days b/c of that. I have read all your posts since I last visited and can't believe a month has gone by for you already.

Just keep that fighting spirit and soon that planner will only have lunch appts and HOT dates!! (did I just say that????)

I have missed you, my friend and sending hugs to you all.

i've missed you DM.
i'm glad you're feeling better

so went to my neuro appt and as expected didn't hear anything to help with my pain or my leg/feet that hurt so much.

unexpected: my left foot (my bad leg) has a lot of edema. and it's pitting which means when you put pressure on the area of swelling that it makes a pit in the skin and stays there. so off i went next door to radiology for an US (ultrasound) to check for a DVT (deep vein thrombosis - clot) WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE. thank God.

i see my pcp next wk and she'll evaluate things. i'm sort of in a place where i feel i just have to tolerate all these pains and problems because no one is offering me anything different. what's there to do? and they want me to stay active, umph

so i went out to lunch, which got sidelined for the test, and now i'm home.
nap time. i'll see you all later.

Oh Judy, I wish there was something they could give you that would help. Jim's feet used to swell so much and we think it was due to the bp meds he was taking. Once he stopped the swelling went down while he was resting and up again when in his chair. This has gone on for years. But lately, since he stopped gabapentin his feet no longer swell. I researched the med and sure enough, along all the other side effects, swelling was a side effect, not to mention weight gain. BTW, he lost 22 lbs since stopping gabapentin and sweets!

Do you think one of your meds are adding to the swelling issue? Jim's massage therapist said whenever you massage feet that swollen to always massage down towards the toes. She said you don't want the fluid to go up the leg. Another thing Jim tried was the alternating leg massagers. Here is the website that explains the one we have. If you want to try it since you now know nothing is going on in your legs I'd be happy to send it to you.

Either way, I hope you soon start to feel better. You've been through so much and we just want you to have good days ahead of you.

Oh, nuts, dear Judy! For cryin' out loud! What? Are they trying to make you the poster child for weird things gone wrong? Dangit, you need a break from all this carp!

Tell about those things, Sandy! Sometimes my feet get so bloody cold, the only way I can warm them is to massage my legs manually and it just poops me out. I've been wondering about something like this.

My old friend, Myrnie wore some like these in the hospital after a couple of her surgeries and they always intrigued me.

Jim absolutely loved them Cindy! He couldn't wear them too long but for the time he did it felt really good to him. Check out that site. It will show you how they work. If Judy doesn't want the ones I have they are yours if you want.

They circulate air in and out. It squeezes and then releases just like the hospital ones.
