today has been a technologically challenging day, whew!
all i did was go out for a haircut but before i did i turned my computer on.

NOTHING. no modem, no computer, no copier machine.
but, the nightlight and lamp i had plugged in worked. the reset button didn't work and there were no power lights on. hmmm. consternation.

my fuses were all ok.
we've been having some lightning here but if i had a power surge my alarm clock would have needed resetting. hmmmm.

so, i went and bought a new surge protector to 3000 jules.
then i had to get down on the floor under my desk and plug it in. umph!
then i had to get back up. i'm still out of breath but i did it. i actually got up from the floor with the help of my chair.

AND, IT'S WORKING! nothing blew up. i'm so proud of myself
then my phone stopped working. my cordless. so then i had to figure that out, but i did.

i guess i must be pretty competent. aren't you proud of me miss MT?

weight stable. gosh the scale is wanting to drop but not yet.
i walked this am too.

Muffin Top says that us single chicks have to be more competent and capable, we are resourceful and we know how to use it.

Proud? I'd expect nothing less of you!

i'm signing off for a bit as we're getting storms here and don't want my newly upped computer to take a hit.

i can't get back on the floor for awhile.

HELP.

now my phones are both dead. my landline which is in my bedroom and is routed into the new surge protector and my cordless phone which in the living room just plugged into the wall. the power buttons are are but i have no service. it's just dead. no dial tone etc.

in the new surge protector there are 3 holes like a phone jack would go into.
there are 2 phone jacks in them for the puter and my BR phone and another line that's either coming from the computer or the modem.

does anyone know what's up with that?
i tried everything and can't figure it out.
i looked at the surge protector and the holes aren't labeled at all.
everything else is working fine.

i switched the lines around in different holes, no change.
argh! i guess i'm not so technologically competent after all.

don't know who i could ask for help here. maybe maintenance tomorrow.

ok, i took my landline phone from the BR and plugged it in the LR and it works. so i have a phone but no voice mail.

then i plugged the puter back into the phone jack and it's working.
so did my cordless just die and it's a coincidence with the surge protector or what?

oh for pete's sake.
plugged the BR phone into the LR jack and i got a dial tone.
now i picked it up and it's dead.

what the????? !!!!!!

Judy, maybe call the phone company with your cell. It could be the lines rather than your phone?

Geez Judy~ You've got me confused!

We have alot of lightening storms around here, so the Phone Co. told me never to have my answer machine hooked up to my cordless land line. He said they have so much trouble w/cordless phones that have answer machines getting zapped during storms.

I now have voice mail through my phone/cable service, as got tired of replacing answer machines and phones. Like Sandy said, call your phone co. and see if they are having trouble.

Sandy~ our prayers were answered/ good news that your'e mmo was clear. I had to have those lil Barbie size paddles once. As "we" age, the density is our booboos can change.

Enough crawling around on the floor Judy! Your'e tiring me out.

guess whhhaaattt?
i lost another pound! that's 3 now.
could i really be on my way?

i still have to walk. today is massage day but i'm only going for 1 hr. so rebound pain should be minimal.

i called quest yesterday about my phones. they will charge me $85 to come out. i first put in a call to maintenance and we'll see what they say. i also may ask a friend to come over. i have 2 in mind. i really, really don't want to get on the floor again but i may plug in the old protector and see if i get the phone back. that means it's got something to do with the new one. after that it will cost me $$$$.
