send the cookies to alffe. she won't eat them..she wants potato chips.

what about teaching todd portion sizes? let him cook the healthy stuff and measure out the food.

dishing up in the kitchen helps. no extra food on the table.

how about suggesting fruit after dinner? or sherbet?

i think it's wonderful he wants to cook for you. i'd fall over if that happened.

so what time is dinner?

Now wait a minute...Shelley I want to know when Day 1 starts.
Gaye was right about sugar free jello...had to smack Mr.Alffe's hand...he can't have it both ways. LOL Yes Curious she does want chips but I can have Hummus for a snack....just dip raw veggies in it! And it took a long time searching but I did find popsicles and fudgesicles I can have.

Hi Wendy! I can relate. I try to cook in a healthy manner, but DH loves fried and salty foods. *he's the one w/the high BP, not me*

He sabotages me all the time by bringing home CHOCOLATE or sweet desserts, which he knows are my weaknesses. He thinks he's being sweet and loving, but if it's in front of me, I'll eat it.

I don't have weight to lose right now, but I have to continually monitor my sweets. I do wish my DH could cook tho. He calls it cooking when he takes me out to eat. What a guy, but I'll keep him.

We just have to try really hard to eat right and not put the junk food in our mouths. I wish it was easy.... *sigh*

could you possibly keep the cookies in the freezer?
that wouldn't be enuf for me but it might for you.
then if he wants 1 he can just defrost 1.

if he knew your feelings, if you told him what you've
told us, maybe that would help get him on board.
just make sure he knows how much you appreciate
his efforts.

I was going to suggest to tell him. You have no problem with him having
the cookies, but he must hide them. Try not to have them when you
are around. Yes it might be hard on him, but a loving husband would
be more than willing to give it a go.

Or if its okay for you to say have 1 every other day. Then tell him
to have 2 out for supper.

Luckily the cookies have not made an appearance since I ate all 6 in a sitting.
