Question Sabotage of a diet

What do you do when you were doing fine on your own and someone, who thinks is helping is actually sabotaging your diet?
Todd has been home from work and making meals. When I was on my own for dinner I was doing so much better because I had to cook for just me. Now he goes shopping and gets snacks (okay my actually eating them is my fault so he is not to blame), and makes things not so quite as diet concious as they should be.
I know that the weight I lost is all back now and I don't know what to do!
HELP!

You could smack him up the side of his head! I know...it's hard.

Its all good food veggies and stuff....but its the portions and other issues....like the cookies. They are chocolate cookies with cheesecake in the middle....they are so yummy! He keeps buying them.
I am trying to be good but it so hard when he makes dinner for me when I get home from work. I feel obligated to eat it.

Can you tell Todd you'd like to go back to the cooking? I know how hard my ex-husband made it for me.

Mmmmmm chocolate cookies with cheesecake in the middle.

I agree with Alffe, smack him in the head!

My hubby cooks every night too. And its hard but I had to say no thanks and stick to my evening snack.

How bout do a check in with each other via phone before you leave work and then you can tell him whether to cook for you or not. It helps me and hubby

First you need to make him aware that he is sabotaging what you are working so hard to do. Tell him you appreciate that he is cooking, but you find his cooking irresistable.

If what he is cooking is healthy, then have a little of that food but turn down the food that is not within your diet. Explain that when he cooks or brings food home you feel obligated to eat it. Tell him you will no longer be eating certain things but it is not a reflection of him or his cooking. It just doesn't work for your diet right now.

It is up to you what you put in your mouth, but I know myself how hard it is when someone is eating something that you love and you have to tell yourself not to eat it. Sometimes it's just too hard to say no.

I've gone through this with my DH but he never got it until he went on a diet for himself. Now he sees where I am coming from when I say I cannot eat that. He knows if he offers me food that I cannot eat it has nothing to do with him. In fact, he will continue to eat it but he doesn't offer it if he knows I cannot eat it.

I can relate to the snack thing. My hubby buys all kinds of chips and dip along with fruit loops and frosted flakes type cereals for the boys when they caome over. I have such a hard time stating out of it. If it is not here...I don't care and can manage but it is always here. The temptation is always here....last night I had a bowl of fruit loops and a bowl of frosted flakes as well!.....late at night as a snack! I do not k now why I do it...my diabetes sure suffers...but it is not untill after I eat it that I feel a tremendous amount of guilt! I have THOUGHT about throwing it back up many times but I have not did it. It is so difficult at times to drum up the willpower! I should be able to conquer it...I quit drinking 7 years ago and have no desire for it now.....why is food such a big thing to us???????
