Hi all,

I've been gone but you have all been in my thoughts and heart.

I have been sick the last few weeks. And the diet being healthy or
not wasn't a question. So being here wasn't something to good either.

I have to admit, I did lose weight, but as I told the Nurse Practicioner
who I saw on Tuesday, who called today to see if I was any better.
Its not my way to lose.

I'm down to 230, and it was looking like I was headed even further fast.
I went down 12 or more lbs, in two weeks or less.

Don't plan to gain it back.

Donna

Thumbs up Hi Franksangel~

Welcome to our forum! Sure you can join right in. We always got room for more. I have been on the South Beach Diet, but others exercise and walk. I too, try to walk when I have time. The biggest thing is to get started. Tell us more about yourself, if you care too. I'm Fancylady or Billie

Thumbs up

You haven't mentioned what your age is, but I have experenced as I have grown older, that my weight has went up. Probably do to less exercise. I haven't put it all on since 05 tho. I have had several back surgeries and don't feel like doing the things I used to do. When I make a conious effort to do so, I lose some, but it is hard!

Yes, taking meds can make the weight go up. You would have to ask your DR. about that. I just heard last week, that my diabetic pills make a person gain weight. A friend of mine lost 40 pounds since she changed that medicine.

Portions of food make a big difference also. I don't do that any. I do hope you succeed. I once wore a size 10, but that would be very hard for me to get down to now. I would be happy to just get down to 150 NOW!

Why don't some of you others come in and tell have you have done it! I would like to hear it again. Come in and help us here.
Fancy

Debbie, Have you read the home page of Weight Loss & Healthy Living? The sticky's at the top. Click into recipes- low calories. I think you can get a lot of good idea's of the way you should eat. Copy and paste some of them that you would be willing to try. I need to look at them myself. Drink a lot of water, all you can stand, really! It helps if you are not hungry.

It sounds like you already get exercise at your job, so change some of the things you eat. Remember baby steps, at first! Once you get started, it kind of encourages you to lose more. Just don't set your goal so high at first, that you can't achieve it.

I'm trying to walk as much as I can stand. It's hard getting started and takes effort on your part. I hope this helps you. You can do it!

Hi, I'm Donna and I personally don't recommend the way I've been
losing weight lately. Its because of abdominal pain and issues
that I'm losing. But I am trying to lose for good reasons.

When I'm losing the way I'm supposed too I try to eat the right
kind of foods. Get some exercise. And do some other things.

Right now my health is helping more than I want.

Donna

Thumbs up Hi Donna,

No, it's certainly no fun being sick. I have been having some abdominal issues myself. Doc has ordered a Colonoscomy now. I am sure not wanting that, as my Dad did have colon cancer. Maybe they will find out what is causing your problem soon. Here's wishing you the best of days. Good Luck.
Blessings,
Fancy or Billie
