Thumbs up MMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!! My DD's grilled....

salmon!!!!!!!!!!!! My 15 yo makes the best grilled salmon in the whole world! WOW...We hadn't had a meal together (with all of us actually eating the same food ) in months. My daughter, who is a better cook than I am , said a couple of nights ago that she planned to make grilled salmon last night. (She has made it many times, and it's always awesome.) All I can say is WOW...and only five WW points for my whole dang dinner!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

LIZARD, who's usually too harried by dinnertime to cook for everybody

Hey, Biz.

You, too, hon'. I have to confess to being lazy with my journaling (logging my food) this week, but I have today planned out and have kept a mental count, so...we'll see how tomorrow goes.

Truthfully, I'm not all that concerned. I have a bigger problem--much bigger. My best friend in the whole world for the past 17 years has a beautiful 5 mo son, and just last week, she called and told me he was having some funky "episodes." Having had epilepsy all my life, I have become fairly well-versed in it, and when she told me what they looked like, I was instantly concerned. They sounded like infantile spasms, a severe type of (usually) degenerative childhood epilepsy, so I told her to get him to the ped the very next day. (She called late at night, right before I crawled into bed.)

Dammnnn...I hate being right about such things. He's been started on med and B6 crushable tabs, but it'll be a long road ahead for them... I just hate being half a continent away...

Anywho...sorry to unload like this. I haven't stopped thinking about them since the call. She called me last night at 1 am to say she was scared because he appeared to be choking, but there was nothing in his mouth. After telling her to call 9-1-1 (her hubby was at work; he's a night watchman), I tried to go back to sleep but must have laid there for at least 1 1/2 hours. Turns out they stopped soon afterward. He is being re-admitted Monday for several days for a full neuro workup. God, it hurts...

I apologize again for being such a downer on such a joyful day. I just needed to get it out.

((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))) to you,

LIZARD, Jimmie's "Auntie"

awwwww honey!!
You're just venting, not getting us down! What are friends for if not to listen? We care about you, and besides, you do the same for us---or had you forgotten that???? Jeesh, how quickly they forget......

Your best friend is lucky to have you as her friend liz! You are such a loving, caring person! I hope everything turns out good for Jimmie! I'll say a prayer for them--and for you too! Hang in there!
Hugs,
LS

Default We Are Happy To Lend An Ear

LIZARD,

I hope the little guy and his mom are doing better today! I am away from ALL my family and friends on the holidays so I know what it's like to want to be there so bad it hurts. But your friend still knows where you are, and that is in her heart.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING LIZ AND EVERYONE ELSE, TOO!

Thanks so much to both of you.

I haven't journaled my food all week, but I don't think I'm gonna gain much. I don't really care, actually. In any case, I have been so distracted by Lacy's news about Jimmie that I'm surprised I still have an appetite. Poor little guy. I know all about what a pain in the @$$ seizures are, having always had the things, but this is far worse than anything I have ever been up against. Infantile Spasms are so scary...you can have dozens or even hundreds a day. It's so hard to comprehend that a child who looks so healthy could be so sick. I just wanna be with her so badly...

Thanks again,

LIZARD

Red face

DEar Lizzard,
You are a good friend to them.
I am sorry that this is happening to them...it sounds like they have a good health care team and that is so important right now.
I hope that you have some bright blue skies this weekend....
knowing that it is hard not to worry when you are worried sick about them.
((((HUGS))))
