Default I knew it all along

I have struggled with trying to control my weight my whole life without much success. As many others have, I could lose weight but then I would gain it back plus some. I finally decided that there was some physiological reason I could not easily control my eating and maintain a weight loss.

I am in the process of listening to a cd lecture on the science of appetite. I am only half done with it but so far I have learned:

1. The hormones that increase appetite and cause the urge to eat are elevated after someone loses weight.

2. The urge to overeat can be caused by what your mother ate or did not eat while she was pregnant.

3. The pleasure receptors in the brain that are stimulated by eating can be depressed when a person is overweight so they have to eat more to get the same amount of pleasure as other from eating.

It seems as things are the way I always thought. There is no solution. I am doomed.
