Everyone is stable here. Mom is settling in. We've had a few spats but nothing that couldn't be handled or ignored. hahaha My goal is to get her more independent so she can possibly live on her own by her best friend in TN. We can hire a helper to take her places and do her meds. Plus my sis will be within 30 mintues of her. The doctor is all for this since she's so young.

Jim is doing well and has an appointment for that exercise machine I showed you a few months ago. He goes in Tuesday for an eval with the salesman. Wish him luck!

hi guys,

boy am i the busy bee.
i booked the movers. then i booked a hotel room for a few nites because after they come to pack and then load we can't stay here. i got a discount for using AAA.

and i set up with an auto transport. we're going to drop the car off sat afternoon. they'll give us a ride back to the hotel and we leave sun. i still have to get an airline ticket. the problem is that no one goes non stop to jacksonville. they all connect at varous places. i need to pick one that connects south, like atlanta or houston. i don't want to connect north like chicago in case the weather is bad.

then, that makes the flight and down time more than 6 hrs. and, i have to change planes. i'm taking one of my rollators and i'll have to check it with my piece of luggage. they said to tie it up so it stays folded.

anyway. i'm out running errands today. the wk/e i'm tackling the closet.
hope you're all doing ok.

Judy I am so excited for you! I wish we could move but Nik has one more year of college and then we'll think about it. We want out of the cold weather and haven't decided where yet. We may head west rather than Tennessee because of medical mj. The only problem with this is we don't know anyone out west. A few relatives but not close ones.

Maybe in a few years things will change but we don't see the bible belt changing by then. haha

i'm doing ok. getting everything situated for the move.
now praying that all the planning works.

i even started on the closet. slow but sure.
in added pain from all the activity but i'm working around it. pacing, pacing, pacing.

Judy, he was evaluated last week and passed the test! He did so well his heel actually sat flat after he was on the machine 10 mintues. How cool is that? We're now waiting to see if the va approves it for Jim to use at home.

Glad to hear your pacing yourself.

hi all,

i think it's been a while since i've checked in.
i'm 1/3 thru my closet. then i'm dealing with the clothes.
cathy will be in 3/13 so we can pack before the movers get here.

some good news is that my apt mgrs aren't going to charge me anything to break my least 6 mos early. i could have been charged up to $2000. i think the note from my neuro helped. plus, i've been here so long. i'm grateful for that.

bad news...i'm in the carpy donut hole for my medicare Rx plan. good news...i've almost hit the $4500 cap. another $250 to go and then i'm in catastrophic coverage. it's so stupid. they should just do a budget billing thru the year like the electric comp does.

anyway, that's about it.
hope you're all doing ok.

Hi Judy and everyone! Sorry it's been awhile to check in. I am down to 132 lbs and I think the stress of moving mom back and forth caused it. LOL

Judy, Jim and I are thinking about Dever as a place to move. Can you give me any tips, good bad and ugly? I know we want to get out of the snow/winter but he wants too move to a state that has medical marijuana and CO is one of them that also has dispensaries. Plus, CO is beautiful and the housing market seems reasonable for wheelchair accessible homes.

How much are they charging you for moving your stuff and who are you using? Nothing will happen here until Nik graduates college but we're getting some ideas.
