i'm going with United Van Lines. they are rated A+ from the BBB.

however, the move is costing plenty, $6200. i'm taking all my furniture. and we're doing half the packing. part of the cost ($500) is for a "shuttle". they can't get their big van in my apt complex so they have to move everything into a smaller van and then move it again. makes me worry more about damage.

i'm shipping my van which another $900. i probably could have done it cheaper. AMN gave me plenty of suggestions but this is best for me.

then there's the hotel on the front and back end. it's all adding up.

i used the internet and the BBB to check out the companies. if you go to movers.org they give you a great article to read on interstate movers.

boy, good luck. there's a lot of controversy here about the medical M. shops are popping up everywhere. they're trying to legislate operations. and, a lot of stores are being robbed.

i'm doing fine. i've lost 6lbs and am keeping it off so i know it's "real".
i'm just about to break 200lbs one day last wk i was 199.8. it's still a really high wt for me but it's progress.

i've relaxed on my walking which isn't good. but i've been doing so much physical work in preparation for the move. i am probably rationalizing...

cathy comes in 3/13 and we'll start packing up everything i havn't gone thru and all the unbreakables. then, the next wk the movers come. i knew time would fly but i've done an awful lot of work to this point. her BD is the 18th and mine is the 21st and we'll be together. we fly out the 21st. i can't wait to see the house.

plus, i'm getting tons of $$$ back from the house tax break. it will pay for the move plus some. it'll pay for a bed for the guest room and maybe a new dining room table.

so i'm pretty excited. i'll be down for a few wks til i get my computer and service back up. i'll let you all know as soon as i can. but, i'm here for another few wks.

well, thought i'd do a check-in.

getting good progress on my closet. cathy comes next Sat. wow.
my pain is escalating but i think it's from all the bending etc i'm doing.

i went for my annual PE today. i've lost 7 lbs since Nov! i'm hugging myself.

My weight has been stable but not budging since the Holidays. I think
its my lack of activity due to a hip/back injury. I hope to find out more

Judy!!!! We are definitely looking at Denver to move. We're also thinking of buying a condo rather than a house since it will be just the two of us. Did you hear they are building a brand new VA hospital in Denver/Aurora area? State of the art spinal cord unit.

Judy, if you don't mind, and it doesn't have to be now, could you send me a message with the areas you think are best for Jim and I? He'd love to be close to the new hospital but we realize not all areas are safe.

hi everyone,

i went to a party with my good friends in town.
it was very, very nice. it was a little sad that i was leaving but heartwarming also because everyone came that was invited. and also because all these people i have known for something like 25 yrs. they're all dear to me.

my brother and family came too. and, they're coming back fri so we can have lunch together as a family before i leave.
cathy comes this Sat. it's here already, my gosh. i leave in 2 wks.

well, my moving wk is beginning. cathy comes in tomorrow. i've had 2 great going away parties from my friends. and today my brother and his family came and took me to lunch. it's hard to leave everything here but i'm looking forward.

the movers come to pack thurs and load fri. sat i take the car to transport and sun we fly out. i'll be living a hotels for about a wk. then the furniture will be delivered.

i can't wait to get moved in and settled.
i won't be on much til after my computer gets hooked up and i settle in.
don't you all do anything i wouldn't do.
