all the cardiac tests are normal. a couple of things to monitor but he doesn't want to see me back for a yr.!

so the surgery is set for the 18th.
my friends will be here to help me.
cathy comes 2 wks later.
i hope i'm making the right decision. i think i am.

approaching the surgery date which is monday. i come home tues. so if i'm not on you'll know why. altho i will try to let you know how it all worked out.

my friends will stay with me so i'll have people around for a few days.

say a few prayers that it all goes well. i don't want to be worse after it's all said and done.

it's tues and i'm home from the surgery yesterday.
it went well. my vertebrae were good bones so i don't even have to wear a collar!

as usual there were many things that came up and i'll be calling the patient advocate just to let them know.

for instance, staff dropped things on the floor and then picked it up again.
twice i stopped them from using those items on me or putting them on the bedside table.

i feel so much better today. my muscles are really messed up. everything hurts. but the bad throat pain is better and so is the surgical site.

my legs seem to feel better and work better. i'll have to see over time if i'm stronger.

keep up the good work. hope you're all ok. i'll be on more when i feel better.

thought i'd check in and let you know i'm in the land of the living.
i'm still in enuf pain to con't with the meds.
i think my legs might be a bit stronger, however my hands are still numb on and off.

i'm sure there's still swelling that needs to go down. my MS flared in that all my muscle pain got really bad. doing heat and massage but...
i'm very tired but up and about and probably doing more than i should.

cathy comes in sunday for 2 wks. i'm very excited to see her.

i hope you've all been doing ok and doing everything i wouldn't do.

my neck is healing but still somewhat stiff. the doc said it could be another 6-9 mos for all to heal. but, i could start gently massaging the op site to lesson scar tissue.

muscle pain a lot better and my use of percoset decreased.

yesterday i had a 45" episode of my cardiac arrhythmia and finally called the dr at 2000. he told me to come to the ER and as soon as i hung up the phone it broke. by the time it goes that long i have earaches and i'm breathing pretty fast. i have an appt to see the cardiologist Wed but everything will be normal.

it's so frustrating. it's never "office hrs" when this happens. oh well.

cathy goes home fri. gosh it's been a fast visit. they're so busy trying to unpack and get things marginally settled we havn't spent as much time together as we'd like. but most is all behind them. just need to go home and sell their abodes.

my brother is coming for an overnight visit early Dec. it'll be fun for him to see the house. he's speaking at a conference in Orlando on end of life issues.
all expenses paid too.

do others use canibus for pain? I would really like to know. I have thought about this for a long time and am considering it for pain. I have several conditions still present, and I don't want to take opiates by mouth anymore.

i don't know enuf about medical marijuana to answer your Q.
i know that others do use it and find relief.
i basically wouldn't like to see marijuana use ok'd for the general public because i think it's a drug and can and often does lead to other drug use.

that's just my opinion.
i guess you'd have to try and see how you feel. my neuro in denver offered it to me but i didn't want to take it.
