I think that was the longest-lasting Insights thread we've had...shows how many don't check in any longer

Had a really good Christmas weekend. DS36 & GF came over Christmas Eve with her parents and we had turkey...they left early and DS31 & DIL came over to raid the leftovers & visit for a spell.
On Christmas morning, I put some cinnamon rolls in the oven. While they baked, DH & I opened gifts, then ate breakfast and just relaxed.
In the afternoon, we packed up some turkey dinner leftovers and took them over to the inlaws'. We bought them a room humidifier, which they were so happy to receive, since FIL's skin is so dry and itchy...could be caused by the heat being up at around 80

They loved dinner...we visited for a few hours, then left and made our way to DS36's where we had goose for the first time. I had a good time visiting with the GF's mom. We had a nice relaxing time watching the Bulls and Bears.

We went shopping today, and now it's back to normal-DH's bowling tonight in his league, while I relax...so tired!! It was a really nice weekend, though.

I just got back from a 3 day trip... 6 hour drive in the rain today. Was not fun!

I'll check in tomorrow, after I get some sleep.

Oh wow! A whole new saga for the winter/spring of 2012. Which, btw, I am in hopes that 2012 will prove to be a much better year for me than 2011.

Plans to the day include working. I think everything for the whole month was dictated in one sitting. j/k It just looks that way but the dictation is broken up some.

Later on DD21 is coming over to take me to the store. I am in desperate need of some groceries. That will be my outing today.

It rained here all night. Good sleeping weather. Windy and colder today so maybe things will dry out some. I'm really tired of the rain.

DS28 is coming up tomorrow and take me out to lunch. I'll get a visit to the grocery store in, too.

Tricia, I hope 2012 is a kinder year to all of us. It's hard to believe it's almost a new year. Time just seems to go faster and faster with each passing year.

Working hard to stay positive today. Rain yesterday, 40 degrees when I got up, 32 now and starting to snow. They're warning about very slippery roads, black ice, when the temperature plummets this afternoon. It's supposed to be around zero, probably below tonight, so everything turns to ice.

We probably won't get the mail for a couple of days, because nobody wants to win the Who Gets the First Broken Hip contest.

Plus (wah wah wah) my back is hurting again (surprise, surprise after grocery shopping yesterday) and dealing with a few of those troublesome little ailments common to all of us, such as a sore toe, canker sores, etc.

I think I'll take a nap later, if only to give myself a break from working hard to stay positive! Oh wait...I have to GET positive before I can STAY positive!

Just enough leftovers for my husband's plate soon, and I'll have a bagel with cream cheese, probably a salad also. Maybe we'll watch a video after the news. Yes, a video, as in VHS. I've got thirty years' worth, we might as well watch them! The other day we hauled out "Ma and Pa Kettle Go to Town". I'd forgotten how funny Marjorie Main was!

Finally.....the SUN is shining!!

I felt pretty good when I got up this morning. I hauled the recycling out to the street. Mostly cardboard boxes. It felt good to move around in the crisp, cool air.

I'm waiting for DS28 to get here. He's taking me to lunch. I'll get a trip in to the grocery store, too, before coming home. Maybe we'll go to Chili's or Applebee's. I've been wanting a really good cheeseburger and fries. Good grief.....my healthy eating has completely gone down the drain.

I just fed the outdoor kitties (again). They're getting as fat as my indoor kitties are. They eat and then scurry back to their warm barn. They really love the hay I put in there for them to make little nests with.

The sun is shining here too, Kelly! And, it's warming up. i think it's supposed to be in the 70s by the end of this week.

B2Y - I love watching old movies. I like the ones from the 50's the best. I watch them on Netflix.

Hi everyone else! Thinking of you as well.

I'm expecting more work to come in sometime today. Therefore, I'm staying put and not going anywhere (although I'd love to get out). I'll take my usual walk in a bit and then get busy on organizing my make-shift studio. I really need to get back to painting but just haven't had any inspiration for a while. Of course, sometimes if I just sit down and start playing with the paints I start to get inspired and just sit and paint for hours. Maybe once I get it all set up I'll feel motivated and inspired.
