I think that I will talk to my GP about counseling, as he has recommended it before. But with a clean EMG, normal neuro exam and being only 25. Along with my GP, the EMG Tech, and the Neuro all saying I don't have ALS. Should I be second guessing them?

i think you are on the right track. let me know how the counseling goes. have a peaceful and stress free thanksgiving. remember, my pm box is like 7-11...open 24 hours a day.  Curious

Tony,
I'm not upset at all. You don't believe any of the good people who have given you good advice so I thought you wanted told you have ALS. Isn't that what you want? I was diagnosed at age 25 and Stephen Hawking diagnosed at age 19 I think. |

Tony,
You are doing exactly what I said you would do....second guessing your EMG results. I wish my brother was told his EMG was clean and didn't have the ALS....that is not what happened. What you should do is thank God you are in good health, get some psychological help and by all means get on with your life. You don't have ALS.....be happy. Alison |

The worst case that I've heard is a hypochondriac that has kept up his worry about ALS for TWENTY-FIVE years. He has posted on these boards. He seems like an intelligent guy from his posts about ALS research and politics. But what a waste of ones mind.
Arrigoar. Your fate is in your hands only. You have as much chance of having ALS someday as anyone in the world. You will get something fatal someday. Something. Hopefully in your last minutes you won't feel the huge regret of wasting so much time on fantasies. |
