Here is one of many,
I put on some eggs to boil in a little cast iron pot, went into the bedroom to watch TV and fell asleep this was around 8pm, my husband Dan came home from bowling around midnight to the flame still under the pot and exploded charred eggs all over the kitchen, they were black, he HATES hard boiled eggs including the smell, well he said this was really bad, he found me sleeping and just cleaned it up best he could, when he tells me about it in the am I am horrified and thankful I didn't start a fire. I always use cast iron cookware now, its so durable

I remember that Ruth!!! Who was it that did something with curtains?? Was it you Lynn??

OK another one was reading after the clipping when I thought I was fine..NOT!! Words and numbers were mixed up and I had to reread over and over again to understand a sentence. So I made a boxed cake...I think it called for 1/4 cup of oil or butter (still not sure) well I saw 1 1/2 cups and the cake never did really cook except to be this thing sitting in the cake pans...I cried and my husband said "honey they're fine, see!" and tried to pick up some cake to show me ...well he couldn't and I threw it in the trash crying I'm never going to bake again(kinda like that song "I left my cake out in the rain") I think I just aged myself I also left burners on all the time...to the point my husband Mike said he'll do the cooking for awhile. All normal...Lol

Mimi,
I made a cake like that when I was first married, it was a red jello cake and I used a large pkg instead of a small one that the recipie called for. It was like a big heavy red sponge. Dan tried to eat it just to be nice but it ended up in the trash just like yours. Then my baking fiasco was from inexperience in the kitchen not aneurysm damage, or was it starting already?? LOL Keep these coming

LOL, Sure, everyone does these silly things ON OCCASION, but my experience, since aneurysm surgery, has been that I do them REAL often If I am on the phone I am always turning off or on water, or lights, instead of hanging up the phone. Now I have taken to calling people by a name SIMILAR to theirs, but not their names. They overlook me and don't mention it. My husband looks at me as if to say "Do you realize what you just said." And I give him the that says, "Yeppers, I know I didn't say it right." It's wonderful to have family and friends that overlook our
