Vegetagirl, I am sorry to read about your panic attack - I get them sometimes.

What works for me (as Dave has suggested) is deep breathing exercises and mindfulness, as well as progressive muscle relaxation.

All of the other suggestions look great to me - I hope that things improve for you soon.
