Hi,
Today was difficult. I was totally overwhelmed with the a million students and their needs. I kind of shut them out of my mind when one group was leaving class and the other one was entering. I pretended to be engaged while blocking them out of my awareness. I did consciously became aware of my feet on the floor and my hands on my lap. I payed attention to my breathing. I tired to feel the temperature in the room and make note of it. And so on. I keep thinking about my feet and my breathing. Then for a moment amongst the chaos of kids coming into the room, I sort of zoned out. I was moving toward a hypnotic state for a few seconds. I relaxed myself. So maybe this was not called "grounding." Maybe it was "relaxation." But I started the exercise by being hyper aware of my feet and my surrounds. At rate, it helped. I slowed my heart rate down and picked back up with the new class. I could make my life easier and richer if I could get to sleep. I'm going to find a way. M. |
