Default Help please!!!

I know there are some really good and intelligent people here, some I know!! I have a question for you. Do any of you ever reach the point sometimes where you absoluttely must shut down, huddle in a dark corner somewhere with no light, music, or people, no sensory input and you would shut your mind off if you could?? Am I just crazy?? I'm so up and down!! And I'm totally frustrated with my own progress to defeat this. I'm so tired of being happy one minute and fighting for my life the next. Someone please tell me it's worth it! Please tell me the fight is worth it.

Heart Hello

Dear Mistis,
Yes. Exactly as you state it.

I do it when I need it, not just if I could.

What is happening?
Do you have a professional helping you?
Are your moods worse at the moment?

It can get better when you get the right kind of help.

Smile Welcome Mistis

Mari is right. It happens, and it is awful when it happens.
Are you seeing a psychiatrist?
If you are perhaps the drugs you have been prescribed need to be looked at or titrated?

If you are not seeing a psychiatrist please do. It is essential.

Heart ((( Misti )))

I'm so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time.

Please take the quiet time you need, like Mari said. Don't be afraid of needing that, it is ok. I don't know what your life is like but things sure can get overwhelming at times.

Do you have a therapist or pdoc? If you do put in a call to them. If you don't, i might suggest looking into one. If there is economic difficulty with this, consider a licensed "counselor" with Master's, not PhD - these professionals are very affordable and just as helpful. They can't prescribe but it would be a start, and they can help you figure out if you need a pdoc or not, and perhaps refer you.

Do you have a place, physical space, where you can be, and not be disturbed? So that you can get some quiet time?

Also it might help to do some breathing exercises... slow, deep breathing with your tummy. Gently push out your tummy as you inhale, rather than pushing out your chest. Let your chest fill up after your tummy. When you breathe out, let all the air out. This breathing causes relaxation at a physical level. By the way, this is sometimes called belly-breathing, but also baby-breathing sometimes, because it is how babies breathe naturally. Then many of us "unlearn it." If you do any yoga, you have probably learned to breathe this way already.

Sometimes, for focus, it helps to put your hand on your tummy, watching it and feeling it go up and down. Also counting as you breathe in and then out. you don't have to have a specific count... just counting to keep a rhythm in your mind can be soothing, and helps keep your mind focused on the breathing action.

keep checking in with us, ok, and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you all for the very kind response!! I just really needed to know when that happens that I am not crazy or the only one who experiences that. I've left all pdocs, counselors, and meds, except for my thyroid behind me for now, and am going through some very major changes in my life. Thank you all from the very depths of my heart for your support.

I will check the blog too, it's difficult to write too much on my phone!

Heart Good to hear from you Misti

Hi Misti,

thanks for checking in.

thyroid disturbances can "look" just like bipolar... you may know that! i don't know if you are on total or partial replacement therapy... i do know that exogenous hormones (supplements) are more active than endogenous ones... i don't know if stress from what you are going through could have an effect on exogenous hormones. (lotsa don't knows here, lol ...) but what i am driving at is... you may want to put a call in to your endocrinologist regarding the recent upheavals. (S)he may want to check/adjust your hormone supplementation.

Hang in there!

Yes. I get over charged,or tired,or just have to stop everything. I have to turn off the TV,close the Bible, turn off the lights, and decompress from what ever this disorder is. I don't know why this happens. It's another unpleasant part of my mental health issues I guess. BF

Heart

Thank you once again. Yes, I went through a nightmare with my thyroid which went undiagnosed until I ended up handcuffed and locked up in a mental facility, wrongly diagnosed as a paranoid schephrenic, and went into myexedema coma. Don't know how I survived except by the grace of God. I am on the name brand Synthoid, and don't have a new doc yet due to a move and financial difficulties. I will be out of my med in a few days and plan to try to see one today. I will try to have levels checked. I didn't realize all the x-tra stress might unbalance it. I also had two joints injected with large doses of cortisone and wonder if that may have upset the hormone balance too. Thank you all for your loving support.

I will find you on FB yet sweet Blue. Merry Christmas ((hugs)) to all!!!
