Smile Stopping by to say hello to my old friends!

I am sitting here as the snow continues to fall outside my door, and happened upon something in another forum which led me back here to Neurotalk! Oh my, it's been ages since I've been here, but I recognize and remember many of your names here!!

I hope the years have been kind to you all! As for me, things are going well for me and my family. My husband and I will be clelbrating our 35th Anniversary in August of this year, and we're planning on a lovely trip back to Bermuda, where we went on our honeymoon! No real plans yet, but I am starting to look around - keeping our options open.

Both my husband and I both work for the state of NJ, and, although in totally different departments, we actually work in the same building, and commute to work together each day - in our Prius, no less. I've been working for Social Security for nearly 4 years now. It's very hard and intense work, but I really still enjoy it.

As for our family, I can't believe my Grandkids are now 4 and 2. They are so much fun to be with! We're planning a Superbowl shindig with them tomorrow - after we dig our car out of the snow, that is!! I will have to put some pictures up when I get a chance, but I am working on a brand new laptop, and don't have any of my digital pictures downloaded on it yet. This laptop is awesome, tho, and I can't believe it has a 500 gb hard drive!! Things have sure come a long way in the field of electronics.

You all probably remember, too, that I have a daughter who is bipolar. She is doing well, just turned 27! She still lives at home with us, and is collecting Disability herself! She is still a kind, generous and loving person, and she is doing quite well on her combination of meds her doc has her on. She enjoys herself, has friends, hobbies, and LOVES to shop . Now if she could only consistantly help me around the house more! I still suffer from chronic pain, as does she. We are both on pain meds.

In in all, life is good for us now... The only sadness we have had of late is that my Dad passed away in mid-December. He was 89, and he lived a good life. He also had some savings, and we have to sell his home in Northern NJ, which should bring us some change. We feel more confident about our financial future, as a result, but we really do miss my Dad! He was always fond of telling us to make sure we got a good price for his house when he was gone! But first, we have to get rid of all his stuff. He grew up during the Depression, and seemed to never throw anything away! You should see his workshop in the basement - tools from floor to ceiling!!

Well, I didn't think I would write this much... I just wanted to say "HI" to my old friends here. You all helped me through some very tough times back in 2003, and I'll never forget you all for that.

Hugs to the room! Jacquie

Hi Jaquie,
I was thinking of you and my gf in Cherry Hill today as I watched the weather reports. We only had three inches in our area west of the Pocono's, but 30 miles away had a foot or more. The cold front really sitting on top of kept the system away.
I think the entire winter there has been a total of 8 or so inches, half of that was a storm in October.
It was so good to hear your update, but sad to hear of Dad's passing. I know it is 10 yrs dad is gone and I miss him terribly. Three years for my darling De. Still crushing.
Grandson is 4 and a half now. Gosh he is a love. my youngest turned 14.
I have an interview this week as a family advocate for county agency. That was one reason I was thinking of you. Physically not working, or only a few hrs is so painful, but to consider full time, scary but needed.
Stop by more often,
Di

Dear Jacquie,
Thanks for the news.
That's so good that your son, daughter, and grandchildren are doing well!
'Sorry about your father.

That is a cute story -- that you and your husband drive to work together!

Default bizi, Di, Mari and Barb ~~

I'm glad that you guys stopped by to say hello! I don't get to any forum very much anymore. I spend most of my workday reading and typing at the computer, so it's good to get a break in the evenings and not spend too much time doing the same thing!

Di, we're bracing for another 12 to 18 inches Tuesday night and all day Wednesday! I just finished cleaning off one of our cars this evening!! This winter has been unreal. The very first storm we had, on December 19th, was the day we buried my Dad, and we ended up driving home in the middle of the snowstorm.

Well, time for bed. Take care, all of you!

Hi Donna - a Hoosier, huh? My husband is from Indiana, and we met when we were at college at Indiana University! It was a natural for him, being from Indiana, but I went there from New Jersey because of their world-famous music school!
