hey Donna... i get it. and yes, ugh exactly.

It's ok to tell us about it too. Venting is fine. Heck, if only we had better and cooler VENTilation we wouldn't have the need to VENT so much. would we?? ;) But since we don't... you just vent away. It's OK. We are here to hear. 2003 was much hotter, yet I tolerated that and didn't have a AC, nor even a single fan then!!! This year I have fans on me always yet always feel weak and fatigued. There just is a lot more to it than the number on a thermometer. With minor exertion I have had dizzy spells, nausea, bp drops. Sometimes I've felt so bad, I have laid down on the tile floor in just a T-shirt, to let the floor drink heat away from the full length of my body. I seem to feel it more than my folks even. Made a comment to mom about how i feel this constantly - she says, it seems fine right now. (???!!!:Noooo: yarrright!) Then she says it's because I don't go outside, it's much better out - and sends me out with the garbage. Out I go and am all but suffocated... come back and tell her she's nuts. Same environment, different perceptions. I wonder if there is some other aspect of the "heat" this year - maybe the air pressure or frequent changes in that, that weren't present other times, or something..... something that could affect migraines. I wonder if we could be getting some partial migraine sx w/o a full migraine. it's just a thought, since you and i both have a problem with those beasties, and sounds like we both have an extraordinary problem with the heat this year. hang in there sweetie. wet down your head. run your wrists under the tap. do not take hot showers. try cool-to-just-tepid showers (not cold). you're not alone. ~ waves ~ sending cooling thoughts (too hot for hugs lol) :circlelove: |
Thanks Waves
I appreciate the post. I also only feel bad if I vent to someone that has no electricity. Then its really bad to me. I went 3 weeks without it once. And really understand what its like. Donna:grouphug: |
Goodness... I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for those without electricity! I am finally grateful that we have sunshine... it has been the wettest spring/summer beginning that I can remember.
My best hint for helping you sleep when its so difficult - is a hot water bottle with COLD water - keep it in the fridge until you need it. They are cheap - buy a few! Putting my feet on these helps immensely. OR, cold peas... anything you've kept in the freezer for a while. |
last night i went all out. wet my t-shirt. and kept rewetting it. esp around the shoulders and front collar. sprayed down back and front too but tried to avoid the back collar to avoid getting cervical tension/headache.
it worked. it really really worked. i got sleepy and had another migraine starting to i went to bed still damp all over. hair too. desperate times call for desperate measures. :o ~ waves ~ p.s. no, it was not transparent, lol. |
I am sorry it is so hot there.....glad you found something to cool you down.

These neck coolers work fabulous - I forgot about mine! http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot....ck-cooler.html

I have a neck cooler too. I haven't worn it in years. When my power was out,I had a fan that is run by 4 batteries, that I have about a foot away from my face now. We have that record breaking heat wave going on,like most of America. I hope that it cools down soon. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Dear Steve,
Keep taking care of yourself. I hope the weather cools too. M |
Thank you Mari. It's 101 degrees here right now at 2:32 PM. You probably have the same heat where you are.
The weather men say the temperature will be going down next week. BF:hug::hug::hug: |
Not sure how hot it is here now. It was 100 and climbing at noon.
Ugh. Its supposed to be cooler next week here too. Donna:grouphug::hug: |
