It was sunny today and I went out!

Hi everyone,

Today was fairly nippy, but otherwise it was a clear, sunny day.

I managed to get out! :)

I got today's cooking done by 1pm, covered everything, then went to the store.

When i was on a low carb diet, I ate my way through all my mom's Wasa crackers (very low carbs, and lots of fiber). So I went to replace those. I brought home some perks for me too: beer, hot dogs, and these little crunchy bread twists with fennel seed. I forced myself to pick between the fennel seed kind and the cayenne pepper kind (as opposed to buying both, as I was strongly inclined to do)! I let availability choose for me - there were lots of cayenne pepper ones, so I figured I could get those next time.

So yes... I went OUT! I got out of the HOUSE! Yaaaaaay!! :Dancing-Chilli:

Monday I am thinking of going to get new glasses.

Waves, :)

I love beautiful days!!
You did great choosing the fennel over the cayenne. Fennel tastes better anyway although I am sure that the cayenne tastes fine.

Have fun picking out new glasses.

getting a new prescription and dark lenses

Dear Mari

I have a gazillion frames so I will not be "picking out" anything at all! :o:(

The decisions I have to make are expensive ones but not fun ones. :( Well they are about as fun as jumping off a cliff and hoping a cloud will sail conveniently by and let you land on it. (a cloud, ... or a magic carpet :D;) But, I digress.)

I am not looking forward to this acquisition process. My needs have become complicated. I need solutions for each of the following:

-- distance vision, photochromatic
-- computer-distance vision, photochromatic (or light tint)

-- distance vision, dark for migraines
-- computer-distance vision, dark for migraines

My dad went to the shop I intend to try, and was happy with the results. I will go there and if she still has the trial offer dealy on progressives I will try them. I know many people rave over them but I am not keen, and my dad hated them. We shall see... certainly they kill two birds with one stone and I have more birds than most!

My last script came from an opthalmologist and he screwed it up. I've had prior problems here with the actual lenses becoming cloudy... stupid stuff.

Currently, I am wearing a pair of glasses that were made up for me in California about 15 years ago - yeah, these are the most functional ones I own! So wish me luck getting at least one functional solution here! ;)

----------------- about the WEATHER ;)

We are supposed to get SNOW tomorrow and Monday so that will be interesting. Snow does not bother me but I have been a real homebody and have not gone out in it this year. Maybe this Monday I can make it to the eye place here in town, with the snow as an incentive.

Waves,

Opthalmologist are notorious for messing up scripts.

Here the shops almost always make us buy new frames with the lenses.
I had have progressives since I was forty. It took me a few years but I love mine now. I do not need them for distance. Only reading and middle.
I have computer glasses (middle) (very good lenses but major cheap frames) that I use only at home.

My sis wears some kind of lens for her migraines (headaches).

Make the most of the snow! :)

I think mine are progressive too. And I have a colored or tinted lens for migraines. Derrick has one or did for seizures.

Another winter day here after teasing days of 50's it is snowing all day with more on Monday and Tuesday.
Dd and dh picking up their new glasses. I think my need is mid vision, the progressives are great but a short coming on the computer for sure.

Hope we see Spring like weather soon!

I hope to see spring like weather soon too.

We had a big booming thunderstorm Saturday afternoon. It was the first one of the year.

I also have 2 pairs of computer glasses that are just right for the computer. My proscription bifocals, top and bottom,do not have this clarity for the computer. They are just right. BF:hug::hug::hug:

We are expecting Snow today, but there is no sign of it.

It is sprying (rain!) very very very lightly, but no major precipitation really. That's too bad.

I hope it snows. My mom hopes it doesn't.
I like it. Mom hates it.

Something is up though, because there is a dead silence outside, and there should be several birds chirping by now (8.25 am).

I was out getting the clothes I bought on clearance yesterday.

And it was what is going to be a beautiful day. And I'm so glad.

We are going to the end of year. Party for Derrick's basketball
team. I sure hope it goes good. First year its a new location

Monster Golf, which is a indoors miniature golf course. That lights
up and has games.
I set this up. And am really nervous the kids wont enjoy themselves
as much as the usual bowling party.

But we just couldn't get a bowling alley. And it just wasn't possible,
to pay the prices they wanted. I am not too happy with them.

Next year if this doesn't work, I will be working on it sooner, to try a
different one that someone suggested late, to late.
