thank you Bizi and Mari
he still hasn't gone. I will ask the vet. I hope he doesn't have an accident in the crate when i take him to the vets but on the other hand i hope he does...i think the breeders' leaving him in the crate for four months except for his playing with their grandson has really caused behavioral or emotional problems on poor little Luc. or rather both. I love him even more. I am so uptight about money but at this point i don't care. I think it is emotional why he is holding it in. oops he just pooped on the rug but still no pee. He got a hold of some vitamin d pills but don't think he ate any. will check on the internet to see if that could be the cause. he appears quite healthy except for this. I am so worried but so thankful I am seeing the vet today. right now he is racing around.

Dear Bobby,
Is Luc drinking water?

home from the vet's . the vet thinks he is going somewhere because his bladder isn't full. beats me. he didn't seem concerned. he had his shots, nails clipped and ears cleaned and i was given ear medicine. he weights 15.6 pounds so i bet he will be bigger than twenty pounds. i ran into an acquaintance in the building and he carried the heavy case and hailed a cab for me and put luc in. minor miracle. then on way back got a cab fast and the man who got out was gracious enough to put the case in the cab. when i got to the apartment building, the cabbie was nice enough to take the case out for me and put it by the building....minor miracles? he is used to being crating sob sob

i started to wonder exactly what the vet said... that maybe he is going someplace you aren't aware of! i guess that is good (for him) but i guess you will need to figure out his secret spot(s). might be time to get on the floor and start 'sampling' the carpet with your nose... :D::eek:

and i agree that the crating probably messed with him but he is only a few months old right? he will be ok - he will adjust. it takes time. i know patience is hard.

believe me i have looked everywhere i can think of and so far no luck. i even checked the toweling in his crate to see if he peed there. good news...yuki climbed on the table and ate some wet cat food. if i put it on the floor luc would inhale it in a nanosecond.
i hope you and the vet are right and luc has found his secret place.
i really feel less stressed but i have to call soon and find out if he has parasites. He has no parasites . oh luc was crated for about four months.

this will either sound asinine or put you in fits of laughter not sure which.

but you know when you eat asparagus it makes urine stink really bad.

dogs aren't obligate carnivores like cats... so maybe you could feed luc a little asparagus :p and see if his urine scent becomes more eehh apparent? :D (ok, if you are going to consider this, check with the vet that asparagus is safe for dogs. some things arent - like raisins for instance.)

(hey, this is better than a radio active tracer and bringing someone in with a geiger counter  which was my first - clearly not viable - thought... sigh :o)

oh another idea - more normal one here - notice if the cats are sniffing places. they have much keener sense of smell and will tend to investigate urine that is not theirs. so maybe they can find it for you.

if the bladder was not full - he was peeing. i was speculating, but the vet was making empirical deductions. now we need to find his hot spots so you can train him.

he seems to be peeing on paper again. i am sitting here crying and feeling so very depressed. i think it is the bipolar. i might ask dr m..to raise the welbutrin to 450. i can't stand being in my skin. i guess the stress has made it worse. i feel my life is over ......i took luc for a couple of walks today and they were mostly drags...he walked only when a smell enticed him. then i had to go to the doctors today for b12 shot and when i left he started making noise...it lasted at least for a few minutes and i don't know how much longer. I immediately started worrying that it would create a problem. this afternoon i bought a shock collar from amazon.com. I don't want to have to get rid of him because of noise factor. I already love him. I still feel so empty. My friend has been calling me once or twice and occasionally three times a week. He is going on vacation next week for a couple of weeks so I will miss his phone calls. He is such a kind guy.

i am still on the ornish diet but afraid to weigh myself for fear i gained back some of the weight.
i hate being bipolar...i hate feeling empty...i hate not feeling grateful for what i have
