Hi,
Pdoc told me the side effects I have been experiencing are called "formication." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formication He told me to pronounce it right if I ever use it. He wrote scripts for 2 weeks of Cymbalta 20 mgs and 2 weeks of Cymbalta 30 mgs. He told me to call him in four weeks. He told me to take it in the a.m. so it does not interfere with sleep. He said it can curb appetite. (we'll see about that) and help with pain. Then he explained to me that the Cymbalta works with the brain's serotonin and norephedrine but not domapine. He told me about Cymbalta's dry mouth and something else and . . . .I stopped listening. I asked if it had GI side effects like Paxil and Zoloft. He said "no." He told me that it was ok for me to continue to take the Wellbutrin 50mgs for a week while I start the Cymbalta at 20mgs. He acts very optimistic and certain about new meds he gives me. Whatever. The pharmacy has to get approval from my insurance company so I might have to wait for them to fill it. =-=- I looked up Cymbalta and GI side effects. Yuck. No wonder people can loose weight on this med. I hope that starting with the low doses helps make this a smooth ride. M. |
