Bizi,

Have you found any triggers for the rosacea?

Wellbutrin caused a small but noticeable flush two summers ago.

I don't flush like other rosacea suffers, I only break out in bumps and pimples primarily on the left side of my face this last out break was from stress, excessive worry over money and the inservice. I think I was hypo manic actually looking back.
thanks for your post mari.

Hey there Bizi...

How are things going? things still improving?

i hope the kefir works out... i'm thinking it might be beneficial to keeping outbreaks at a minimum too. not sure though.

hi waves!
I am having a hard time keeping focused. taking a break from charting.
sigh
my face is better I think, my right side of my face is starting to break out a bit....white heads along my chin.
lots of oiliness....
still improvement overall....
so far I have not had any side effects from the oracea 40mg of doxycyclin, small dose doesn't cause bacteria resistance. I like the kefir, it is delicious!
thanks for asking waves, I think you sound a bit better, hope you feel a bit better soon.

Bizi, do you think sun light or heat might be a trigger ? It happens to me !!! argh... I hate my skin !

bizi 10-10-2011 10:32 PM

I think that stress is a big trigger for me. I don't flush with the normal rosacea flares from sun heat, alcohol, etc.
I got my results back from my saliva, hormones test. It looks like my cortisol level was elevated, so am not sure about that. one reason could be a stress response, well I have been under stress so maybe that is a normal response then???? don't know.
so tired tonight up at 5am could not go back to sleep. hoping to sleep tonight.

Well, cortisol shouldnt be elevated because you shouldnt be stressed... :o But if you were stressed, that's why it was elevated and, rosacea hit you ! :o

I am starting to break out in places that were clear, like my forehead.
along my outer chin area. I see the derm this morning so I will see what he has to say.
thank you for posting to me.
(((HUGS))))

OH gosh Bizi!!!

I am glad you are seeing the derm today! Let us know what he says. Oh and make sure you tell him about the elevated cortisol level - maybe bring the labs with you if you have a copy.

I saw him today, he was happy with the way it was healing over all much better. not concerned about the new small break outs..."that's rosacea"
I told him about the elevated cortisol and he said that was from stress and being bipolar....well I figured as much.
There is controversy about how to take the oracea, the insert says empty stomach one hour after but his script says take with food. I questioned it with the staff and they said they always for years have had people take it with food.
I think it is dandy that I can drink my coffee and that I don't have to get up any earlier, I would rather sleep. I am going to ask the pharmacist tomorrow when I pick it up.
He wants me to start using moisturizer over the aczone...so I will start doing that tonight. Hope my face doesn't freak out from it...have never used a moisturizer before.

anyway
thanks for checking in with me.
