Sending some Hugs, and thoughts.

thank you for you support!
started today on oracea medication. A small dose 40mg of doxycyclin. have to take it on an empty stomach, but I drank 2 big glasses of water because it can cause stomach upset. I hope I don't get any of the common side effects....sore throat, sinus infection, yeast infection, will take my probiotic until i get acidoffilus, that is what they recommend. I wonder if that means no coffee? I think I will wait and just drink iced coffee in the car...on my way to see my first client. I hope everyone has a nice day today...it has been lovely weather here. bizi |
Good luck with this Bizi.
We have been having lovely weather here too. Donna:grouphug: |
Bizi,
That's a lot of side effects isn't it, but it will pay off. Good luck with your client. Curly |

you can take probiotics with some foods, but not all. plain yogurt is definitely safe. ~ waves ~ |

I mis spoke. I knew that about the probiotics, I meant to say that I wonder if I can drink coffee during that 1 hour of empty stomach plus 2 glasses of water...If I can drink water than why couldn't I drink coffee? For a non morning person to get up and not eat or drink anything for an hour is tough. everyday for the rest of my life????? I took both my align and acidophilus today. I did not have any gi upset from the oracea! bizi |
Dear Bizi
here's a snippet from RxList - Indications and Dosage for Oracea Quote:
Wikipedia says food does not affect doxycycline absorption, and while their info is sometimes newer than what RxList has, i did not check their references, so i'd stick with what you were told - empty stomach. RxList also states that Oracea may interfere with oral contraceptives - ask your doctor if that is a concern. ~ waves ~ |
so let me get this straight.
8;30 am oracea doxy pill, 9;30 coffee, muscle milk protein drink(breakfast), 1130or after probiotics and vitamins, geodon, with lunch. ~sigh bizi |

You are doing great. The protocols you are setting up for yourself are helping. M |

that should work! good job! ugh on the getting up at 8:30 every morning with the doxy pill... i imagine they suggest sitting up for at least 30 mins after taking it too, eh, so no swallow-pill-go-back-to-sleep dealy... sigh. (that's what i used to do when i was on thyroid supplements and i was STILL gllad to get off. ) i am concerned that they want to keep you on this permanently rather than do cycles of it. various concerns including that it can favor the development of resistant organisms - it is used to treat a variety of other conditions as well.... ~ waves ~ |
