i still feel dreadful. it's mostly a perpetual stunned like feeling. like apathy to the nth power. it comes and goes. but mostly comes and comes. i had hoped i'd feel better "automatically" after the tension of Christmas. apparently not. the feeling seems emotional and physical but also affects my concentration at times.
i can overcome this zombie-like state with great effort for very brief periods. i use those to do things like, eat, get water or coffee, use the restroom, brush teeth. one at at a time, because i am quickly overcome agian. i need to do the following: -- take a shower/wash hair/other grooming -- to go to the city to print calendar/drop boots (same general location). i want to do the following rather badly: -- get rid of some clothes i don't see anything from either "list" happening today. i think i am sleeping enough. but it's all over the map again. ~ waves ~ |
the washer broke on me
well i decided to wash my blanket. washer does most of the work. it was doable.
washer knobby thing broke. today is not my day. just my luck. so then mom set me off on an almost impossible internet-hunt for shops that carry one of the two models she wants. (this is the 3rd breakdown this year so she's going to get a new washer... cheaper at this rate.) i did that. it was frustrating. these ppl don't put things on the web or when they do it's for e-purchase only... sigh. so then it's going to be a lot of phone calling. i'm going to let her do that part. i feel shaky. the washer breaking down broke me down even worse too, somehow. it was as if it said "ha! trying to be productive, eh? well i'll show you...L:cool:" and it did. boy did it. :( ~ waves ~ not washing but whining |
Waves
Your being productive, just in a whole different way. Donna:grouphug::hug: |
hello waves
[It seems like your day is off to a ruff start. Sorry things are piling up on you. What you are doing with calling about the washer is really very productive, and a help to your family. Just take one thing at a time, and try not to be overwhelmed at all you have to do. I am sure thinking about you. ginnie

washer research and roast
Hi
i was not doing calls. felt too shaky. was leaving that for mom, if she wanted to. but it's often a lost proposition here since many places refuse to tell you anything by phone, especially prices. sometimes they don't want to tell you if a model is in stock or not either. they want to make you go in and "see" what they have. pathetic. my part was just the internet part ... searching for models with specific features. and i am not close to done, coz my mom tacked on another brand when she came home last night. we might be without a washer for a while. which sucks... the ones i've seen list 2-3 week availability. :( anyway we are on hold because next thing she did was burned the heck out of her hand/wrist. i did however get another chance to be productive as there was a stove-top roast already bought and garnished waiting to be cooked. couldn't freeze or store it. so i had to help get it done and do all the dishes before and after. luckily it is easy, mostly just knowing timings and temps, which mom knows. well, so i learned how to make stove-top roast last night! :o:cool: go figure! had no idea it was that easy, either. by the end of night i was wiped out but i was so agitated when mom hurt herself that it got the energies going for a good while i guess... :o ~ waves ~ |
Dear Waves,
I hope that your mother's hand and wrist heal soon. . . .good job on the stove top roast. Ugh about the washing machine. M |
Thank you Mari
Hi. :) thanks.
mom put lavender essential oil on her fingers immediately and repeatedly, and kept them on an icepack so they should be fine today. at most a little tender even though they took the worst burn. (lavender is close to miraculous for simple burns). however, she didn't notice the wrist lesion right away and that blistered... inner wrist - delicate skin. she is using pure vitamin E on it (lavender oil is a no no on broken skin) and gauze, and will get a special medicated covering later. we miss having huge mature sun-soaked aloe plants always ready to donate a leafe to make everything better, big or small. i have passed on your well wishes to her btw. she thanks you too. :) i will try to do more washer research today and maybe a shower, or whatever. ~ waves ~ |
lavender for treatment
Hi, Waves,
'Sending good vibes for your mother's complete recovery. When hubby burned his fingers/ hand in the kitchen with what looked to me to be close to a second degree burn because of its location, the pharmacist suggested lidocaine, ointment of colloidial silver, and a crummy lotion with a small percentage of aloe. We were able to go to the health food store for near 100% aloe. I am familiar with colloidial silver because I used to have a home making kit but was not aware that pharmacists were recommending it. I finally and completely killed off my aloe plant a few days ago. If I buy / find another, I do so knowing that I will eventually sacrifice it to the gods of bipolar that forbid me from attending to needs beyond the most fundamental for my own life. Some people who do not grow their own aloe have friends that give them pieces to keep in the freezer in case of emergencies. With the exception of my plant, aloe seems to grow sturdily and freely with nothing more than sun and rain. I think of it as a friendly plant, not least because of its healing properties. I learned something about lavender. I find it amazing that you and your mother have knowledge and experience with letting flower therapy assist you. http://bestsmileys.com/flowers/3.gif I was sleeping when hubby burned his hand. He waited in pain for an hour plus for me to wake up and help him deal with it. I am happy that he protects my sleep. Good luck today in your tasks. Do you plan to cook and wash dishes tonight? M |
ouch
Hi waves, sorry your mom burned herself. I hope she heals quickly. that can sure hurt. Good for you for doing the stove top roast. I don't know how to do that! I only learned the in over way. Hope your day is going good. ginnie
