Is that a possibility?

Yes.
Thank you.
I could say something like this:
"Hi, I need to cancel the appointment because I do not get paid until Friday. I would like to have a phone appointment sometime after Friday when I get paid."

You made me realize that I could ask to change the appointment to Friday. That will make sense to both her and me. On Friday, I will have a good check to hand to her.
