Red face

today I am going to pamper myself to a little spa day.
Getting a pedicure and a hair cut...with a little magazine reading time in between services, I feel like it is such a luxury to read a glamour magazine, have never bought one before but love looking at all the beautiful people.
jeff and I are going to get a sandwich for lunch at our favorite chris's po-boys, we split this wonderful sandwich that has roast beef and ham and swiss cheese and drippings, it is messy and wonderful!, maybe have a little gumbo too. sipping a cup of black coffee because we are out of french vanilla creamer which jeff has run to go get some as a fresh pot brews. My rosacea had broke out about 2 weeks ago on my right side of my nose and started to spread to my cheek, I started taking antibiotics and using the domeboro soaks like before and stopped its progression so am happy about that.
Went to the concert last night with some friends Horace trahan, a zydeco band. Had a waffle sandwich which was excellent and did not miss the beer that was everywhere.
I don't think I can diet and not drink at the same time right now.

Bizi

There are other ways to diet. You can just watch what you eat in
other ways. And do your exercising and you will be watching your
diet in a different way.

I'm really proud of you taking steps one day at a time.

YES!!!

I have a thought about those glamour magazines - why not go to your library - they are free to check out!

Sharing things with Jeff ... whether it be food, walks, talks, drinks... its all soooooooo good! and healthy! I'm so glad you have him!

Baby steps,
Addy

Hi Bizi The two would be to much. To stop drinking is a major biggie. You will probably notice a sweet tooth will develop. After I stopped drinking,I started eating more sweets. My dad said he did the same thing. I believe that I have heard others say the same thing. Don't be surprised if you take several spoon fulls of sugar in your coffee. BF

Default Bizzzzzzziiiii!

It is good to read your thread. I will give my two cents....be kind to yourself. You are trying to do alot, too much maybe. I used to smoke cigarettes and drink. I tried for years to quit one or the other. Then I realized that quitting drinking was the bigger of the two problems due to my actions while intoxicated. I wasn't alcohol dependent but every time I drank, I was inebriated to numb out and not feel my feeling. So....I decided that the most important thing to change was the drinking. Then a long time later, the smoking, then the diet. These are all big things. Accept yourself as you are and have patience and remember Rome wasn't built in a day.

Hey Bizi It took me 6 months to stop drinking. I dosed it down in days, and then weeks.

Then I was off of it for days, weeks, months, and then years. Now it's been decades. Wow! I did it! BF

Red face

The last time that I quit drinking was for lent, that was 40 days and boy did I count down those days...I remember easter having a drink at exactly 12am.
WE went to see a play last night called off the streets. a play about these women and their own personal experiences with their own demons. they work with acadiana out reach. at the end of the play they each went around and said their names and stated how many days they had been clean and sober. Very powerful! Afterward we had some gelato and walked downtown for a bit then headed home to watch an episode of "the ex-files" we are on season 4 right now so that is our new thing...there were 9 seasons so that will keep us entertained for a good while.
So far it has been easy not drinking easier than I thought it would be.
That is a good thing.
bizi
Thank you for all of your support.
