I saw my pdoc yesterday and weighed in I have lost 5 pounds in 5 weeks. I basically have not been obsessed with dieting just consciously avoiding most carbs, except for lentils, and not snacking too much, eating almonds and a piece or two of dried mango slices, unsweetened. very satisfying. She seemed happy that I was Alcohol free, she asked me when was the last time that I "used". Makes it sound like it is a drug. I did not tell her that I plan on drinking for new years eve or the cruise for that matter. I told her that I thought that I had been hypomanic with the purchase of the car and then all of the drinking. She did not disagree with me. She wanted to know if my therapist suggested any groups for me, she had not. I don't think that I need to go to AA. I am doing just fine with not drinking right now, I don't think I could do a 12 step program, nor invest in the time and energy required.and the fact that I don't think I need to, most importantly.
