Or maybe I'll need to starting hooting at the night owls.

PJ.... I miss the pixie dust too.

Three of us in the same lithium boat.

Yep, we all better be holding hands through this one. The best way through it, is together.

I am starting to be able to fall asleep without the valum. The toughest part now is the titration off the Lamictal, still. Weepy and some panic. Not as bad though.

The hunger will start to outweigh the crappy taste bud issue pretty soon. Increase your water and find some low-cal breath mints. Try it and see what you think. (I found some with caffine!! Helps a bit with the fog.)

The fog isn't new for me. I have fibro, so it's just like a really bad flare. Kinda used to that.

I have been taking my mid day dose with a slim fast and that seems to help with some of the fog. Not all, but some.

I just wish my eyes would uncross. Pdoc says it's probably the Lamictal. sigh. Still can't see after 11:00am. (If you live in Utah, watch yourself after 4pm on the west side of SLC. LOL. I drive a silver Mazda. )

I hope sleep comes to you soon and that it is resorative.

Wes was on Lithium and Serequel and Lithium, Befuddled. He was groggy as all get out. So we made sure he got his Seroquel at night, and he only took a small portion of his lithium dose during the day. It helped a bit. But he was taking 1500 mgs of Seroquel a day.....that would grog anyone out. I got yer back, girlfriend.

MeBP - can you take Benedryl? I know some people use that for sleep and it works.

I have to take my klonapin and trazadone to sleep, plus my fan on.

Sometimes when I can't sleep I lay in bed with the TV on and start watching something and just doze right off.

I can get to sleep, I just have a problem staying asleep all night, I wake up a few times.

Good Luck.......please your p-doc asap, you need to sleep....

Hugs, Nikko

I do have some Benadryl left from when I had poison ivy so maybe I'll try that. I slept maybe an hour or so last night that's all. But I sure do have the cleanest house on the block. I gave up trying to sleep at 3am and decided to clean the grout in the downstairs bathroom. I'm sitting at my desk almost falling asleep, if only I could take a nap right here.

My pdoc called today to see how I was doing. I told her about the not sleeping, nothing tastes right and the feeling that my head is somewhere else. She said some people fly by on it and others feel horrid. She's certain though that this is what I need and to up it to 400. She thinks I'm just too stressed to not sleep and I worry about things, which I do. My carpets are still soaked from the floods and the insurance guy won't be out until next week. My job is very stressful especially now. I'm almost broke down in tears when I got an email today that the IRS has extended the deadline for filing your taxes until April 27th due to the spring storms. So if you haven't filed your taxes and were any way affected, you still have time. Unfortunately for me it's one more week of overtime that's expected of me.

that is one heck of a pdoc.
hang on to her with all of your might.
Benadryl is a great suggestion.

My pdoc calls me all the time and emails me articles and info. She knows that I'm not coping well and we've bonded. I feel like I have a friend and not so alone.

You have a great pdoc and you have us.

I am finding out that my craving for caffine is subsiding. (Which is a good thing. Caffine makes your lithium levels lower.) That funky taste is getting better too.

But now I am worrying about weight gain. sigh.

I'm glad that some of your side-effects are easing MB. You're 2 weeks ahead of me I think so I have a ways to go. Today is not a good day. I've been very shaky, my knees feel like they're going to give out. Just waaay too tired, I hope.

hey girlie,
have you tried the regular suggestions for sleep.
warm baths, warm milk?
reading something really boring, fan for noise...a hum in the back ground...
How long have you had this insomnia?
getting ready for bed now.
((((HUGS))))
