Default yoga to the people

I found this place that only charges 8$ per class of yoga. They are called yoga to the people. I am going to try it out this Saturday. Also thinking of getting together with a Buddhists counselor. Both these practices might teach me meditation.

Meditation experiences are different for everyone. I however can't seem to meditate. I do try but the breathing causes me to get ancy and I end up having a mild panic attack. I get distracted. I redirect myself over again and seconds later...fail. The goal is to let my brain become empty. Not think about work. Not think about what to do next. I just want my brain to have nothing in it. For at least a few minutes.
So hard to do. Has anyone had any luck on this or practiced this?
