Some places have poor drainage, but even with good drainage, with that much rain areas will flood.

Neither good nor bad, or better, both good and bad.

When I posted that, I was thinking of "cold" in terms of discomfort. So in that sense, bad. But the flip side is that the exhausting summer heat is really, completely over for this year, which is good. Here, it is officially and effectively, Autumn.

In general ach season brings its own wonders and its own discomforts. Having to change clothes is "interesting" but it is a PITA. The different weather conditions are a relief from previous discomforts and bring a change of scenery, but each season brings new discomforts.

I grew up and spent most of my life without real seasons. I think this gives me a slight advantage over others who are used to them, because I still have something of a childlike wonder about them. I am perhaps more appreciative of the changes, despite the discomforts of each season, and despite my being less unaccustomed than everyone else to having to adapt to the changes.

Changing the wardrobe is a lot of work. When I lived near your area, I had *one* wardrobe. Now I have 3 (Cold season, Hot season, Midseason). Sometimes, I ummm... never get around to it, and live out of boxes for a season. That said, I kind of like being able to wear different things. At least, I used to, when I was more truly "living".

Yuck! Flooding!

I lived in an area that was subject to flash-flooding at one time. One year I had the back lawn submerged, with water nearly to the second step from my porch... a couple more inches and it would have been inside! Roads were rivers and some were closed with cops directing traffic to make sure nobody tried to go in there.

It can be really scary!

I hope you are safe, Mari.

Its been pretty okay here.

Its rained a little. I think we may be getting more soon.

But the temperature has been nice. The wind for driving has
been okay. That is good because when I drive I hate wind.

I am worried we are in for some tornadoes. Its been that
kind of looking weather.

We have been getting rain and rain and rain.

For the last three or four days. Its feast of the hunter's moon.

So its usual for this weekend to always rain. Its something
that used to be a day that one either Thursday or Friday the
special needs kids went in rain to the feast.

It happened again this year. Just not with Derrick.
