A sleepless night of watching the water pipes. I was watching the local weather and the temp at the substation in our town was -14* a windchill -35* at 9:00 AM. I can't wait for the weekly paper to see what was recorded as a low during the night!

If you picture walking up to a car in Syberia stiff and frozen, the steering wheel won't turn, the door creaks and groans, trying to start the car slowing makes a small groan before eventually starting. Even though I had it running 5 hrs earlier.

The wind was so cold on my face it felt like menthol when I got out of he car at the mail box. The snowless ground was so hard I thought it could split. During the day the deck and side walks moaned, groand, banged and popped.

Yesterday the city was 6* for a high, Today the city will be 18*, tomorrow 28*, Friday 38*. I use to hate going outside in 38* now that seems like a heat wave. Especially if we make the 50* on Friday and Saturday.

My Fybromyalgia and aches/pains make it hard to move. I just curled up on the recliner with a heavy afghan. I wish the hot tub was running.
Hope everyone else is though it safely.

Di,

You have been through a lot. And that sounds like a hard night.
It takes a strong composition to listen to the house like that, feeling it move and listening to it (and feeling it) deal with the weather. I am glad that the water pipes survived.

The temperatures in your area are so low as to be unreal -- something from a sic fi movie almost.

I hope that your body feels better as your get warmer weather soon. -- (maybe the weekend?)

Keep taking care.

Hi everyone
I have kind of been hibernating in this weather. Forgot to come with a update
yesterday. Its still lots of snow.

The emergency warning for most of our state didn't lift till last night.
And most of the people were smart and stayed in. My husband was
one that as the things lifted went out.

For one he needed phone time on our phones, to pick up Derrick
and food for work today. Not that I am surprised he went just
hoping even though it doesn't feel as warm as they thought it
was going to get that it is. They think its going to get to 30 degrees.
My house sure doesn't feel that warm. And it starts getting colder
when its dropping.

Its been - something for days so its been bad. Not sure how much
snow we have somewhere between 10 to 12 something I would guess.

Oh gosh it didn't even wait till tomorrow for the snow to return as it
was supposed to. Its back now. Ugh, Derrick has dug my van out.

Just in case he wants to try to go to work in the morning.

Its so weird, he knows its probably going to depend on the weather
still.

But there still is a lot out there.

Some of the aspects of this Polar Vortex that we had reminds me of the movie,"The day after tomorrow". I've seen that movie a number of times. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Would everyone please send up some thoughts for my state of
Indiana not to get hit again right now.

We could really use a nice even warm weekend. I haven't
ventured out of my little town. Yep, I think its been the longest
6 days I've stayed home. But its not been bad. I'm even getting
used to no tv.

I do need to pay for some bills. I'm late.

Last Friday our old cable company went out of business.

And right now my husband is trying to decide what he wants to
get. Normal for him.

Ugh.

do you have rabbit ears to get local tv stations? or can't get any at all?
sorry about that.

we don't have cable only local tv, get about 10 channels with the digital convertor box, because we have an old tv.
