Hey Bizi. I heard that they got hit really hard with a whole lot of rain. I read on the internet that they received as much as 24.4 inches of rain in Pensacola. Another report said 2 feet. Another report said 20 inches.

They received all of that rain within a 24,to 26 hour period of time. They also had many lightning strikes.

Unbelievable. I'm glad that I wasn't there. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Did you know that Pensacola, FL and Mobile, AL get more rain than other cities in the US?

http://www.climate.com/assets/Landin...es-Summary.pdf
Mobile: 67 inches per year
Pensacola: 65 inches

Florida is the number one state for lightening strikes and tied with Kansas as the number three state for tornadoes.

Mari Very interesting. Did you have allot of lightening yesterday. I think that the center of the storm passed over the Northern area of your State. BF:hug::hug::hug:

The weather was scary this week! I hope all our friends are safe dry and un damaged.

Steve and Bizi,
did you get a lot of rain? I saw warnings out yesterday and today. I was watching much of the weather channel the last week. The flooding, tornados, sink hole, gas explosion, unreal!

We had 2 3/4 inches but no flooding. As long as it stays away from upstate and NY runoff from the river we are fine. The streams were high, roads really slick from the water, but the winds had power outages and surger going on. Lots of trees down.

Hey Di. It sure was a strange weather week. There were flooded areas in my county, but I live at the top of a hill. There were lightning strikes, and occasional down pours of rain that scared my cat.

That sink hole in Maryland got my attention. It would be a horrible ordeal to see your car collapsing off the road down into a sink hole. A group of parked cars went down in this unusual sink hole. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Here is a news clip of the contrasts in my life.
My lovely seaside colony on the Gulf Coast got over 26 inches heavy rainfall in 20 hours.
What fell in just one hour was more than the total of Hurricane Ivan and more than Seattle's most DAILY rainfall record.
Meanwhile here the cold NW Oregon coast is back to normal.

Bizi, I'm still homesick. I haven't had a cup of jambalaya or even red beans and rice in 3 months now. : (

Glad y'all are well. Thanks for the updates here.

Oh my mouth is watering . . .
Enjoy, Luv.

they just ran out of oysters rats! but the crawfish were delicious. I have a very sore throat and have lost my voice intermitantly over the past 3 days.
my throat feels thick..have been drinking hot fluids most of the day because it feels good on my throat.
I cough then that is when I lose my voice then it comes back just deep, have never really had larnygitis before....don't like it.
