Darn. I was hoping to savor your recount of those oysters tonight.
I so miss them.
I thought I'd enjoy an abundance of fresh salmon and tuna Up Here. Nooooo.
My lifelong nurse friend said now to only buy North Atlantic salmon. Sigh.
Such a long way for a salmon to get here when they're out there in the Pacific.
All that refrigerated transport drives up the price I gotta pay. What a wacky world.

bizi,
Are you using any warm saline gargle for your throat?
I bet you are using Throat Care herbal tea.
I hope it all settles down quickly.

The summer like ((((Humidity)))) is back. I'd rather have a drier heat, but humidity is what the South has during the Summers. BF:hug::hug::hug:

Yep. It is hot now.
I remember every year that it takes all summer to get used to the heat. June feels unbearable hot, but by late August (when it is actually hotter) we are accustomed to it.

I grew up without a/c.
We would wet our hair, put cold compresses on . . .

This is how we almost managed. (Some nights we barely slept.)

Place or tie an icepack behind your head.
Wet all your hair, or just all along the hairline in a pinch. The evaporation of the water will cool your head (though it may make your hair a bit frizzy if it's curly!).
Dry heat. Ack!! Yuck.
Even Long Island NY felt dry to me after living in the South.
And when I was in San Diego and Nevada for visits, I was miserable.
Dry heat feels worse to me. I don't know why that is.

I remember walking off a plane back to arizona and having my breath be taken away from the dry heat it dried out my eye sockets just like that!

Exactly.
I felt like I was choking.
And my skin was a mess.

I dislike humidity, and drier heat isn't likeable either. I agree with you all.
I just hate humidity though. I've heard about the humidity in Long Island, and that it is just as bad where I live.

Mari You didn't have air conditioning when you were growing up!!! That must have been awful. BF:hug::hug::hug:

We managed.
We cooled off by taking showers, slowing down in the afternoons, . .

Sometimes, my parents had one room that they cooled with a window unit a/c. Sometimes they used it and we hung out in there.
That helped.

We are getting rained on very hard. The local creeks are flooding. Di. I think that it's headed your way. I'm starting to get use to the humidity. BF:hug::hug::hug:
