We wouldn't continue to read if we found it anything but useful. I really get a lot out of what you say. Donna ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Bizi,
![]() Waves, I think the forum folks gets the vents we have, can bounce back ideas and take us further in working out issues then the therapist I have used. She is good, but the forum is instantaneous and more real live experience to draw from. So much unconditional support and freely giving folks. Love them all, Sometimes it feels like pieces of the puzzle fit better when a variety of input and support is shared. Hope it sorts out for you, if you are working it should be something that you feel is a good fit. Di ![]()

"Safe Heaven" --I loved that Bizi !!!
![]() My sister waves, we will never feel tired reading you !!! NEVER ! ![]() Fear......... Oh what an annoying feeling.... I could share here some of those thousands quotes that are around the internet and books saying we should not pay attention of fear, that fear doesnt help, it is just trash, that fear is only in our mind, that our dreams should be bigger than any fear and etc... BUT, I know it is way easier to be said, and write it, than to actually manage to leave our fears aside..... I totally feel what you mean waves.... But, to be honest, I seriously think you have all the potential to do great on tihs, Im sure you will get the certification. So, in this case, I think it is totally correct to use one of those quotes and say: Dont let the fear stop you. ![]() ![]() We all here are kind to each other, but also honest, and if we knew you were not going to make it, we will tell you... but we not only believe in you, we are SURE you are gonna be great on this. you are great. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I have chosen, for the moment, to look for work rather than plunk down lots of money for a stressy certification course. If I have trouble finding work for the fall due to lmy ack of certification, I shall apply for the certification course that starts in January - it is the part-time version (Saturdays only).
I have just sent out a resume - to one school only. It is a highly reputable school that operates at an international level. They seek to employ people for teaching positions who 1. enjoy the language, 2. enjoy teaching, and 3. are native speakers or have native-level proficiency. In a separate note they mention they are always on the lookout for native speakers... this suggests to me this is a highly valued attribute. This sets them apart from those schools which require certification, many of which specify that they do not require native proficiency. ![]() This school operates at an international level. They have their own standard method, which might be why they don't care about certification. I'm guessing they give all teachers a short training course in their method before sticking them in the classroom. In any case, the syllabuses and materials have all been established, so one has a preset structure to follow. This alone is huge for me. I have a high preference for this establishment, so I am going to give these people a couple of weeks to reply, before I send out other resumes. If they don't reply, I will proceed to look for and apply to all other schools that are well established as language-teaching institutions. (Yes, I am going to be somewhat picky.) ![]() Trust me to do this when I am doped up on gabapentin and painkillers. I didn't write the resume just now though. I had it drawn up already and customized it recently. Just now all I did was make final tweaks and send it. Well, there you go! ![]() waves |
