Trig Why Me?
It seems the nicer I am to people the more they disrespect me and treat me as such. It's not only my neighbor Doug talking over me but others in my life. I wish I could just sleep and sleep and my head would just automatically get straight. I have no one it seems that I can really depend on in 3-D. It gets mighty lonely on this end of the computer. I feel I wasted all that time on my neighbor Doug too when I should have been paying attention to my needs.

Awwww I am so sorry this is happening Barbara, I hate that your neighbor just can't be kind and reciprocate the kindness you've shown him. Hang in there, you will find good people to be around in time. For now just focus on yourself and forget Doug.

It's really like a balancing act - finding and making friends.
You have to be yourself- but still put yourself out there a bit.

It takes a lot of trial and error - how else would anyone make friends
- in time you either find they are a good and worthy friend or not so good.
And if not so good- you just need to distance yourself from those and look for new friends. Ones who accept you and respect you.

Thanks you two.

I know that Doug really is a good friend but that since starting chemo and being on the pain meds he gets real talkative. It's other's that make it so hard.

Take some time for yourself. Don't let other people get to you, it's a waste of energy.

ya know..sometimes doing or taking care of others IS helping yourself. maybe just try to not expect anything in return. you are a giver befuddled. some people take and don't return. they don't always do it on purpose, they just don't know they should.
