Hi everyone, I'm really impressed with the new service providers.

Its a lot like it was when we started with the old.

Derrick got to see his last provider tonight. The longest one he
has had. He isn't available very often. But someone (Jane)
asked him to take the shift tonight.

The one who is supposed to do this. Asked, but didn't follow through.

Anyway he had a great time. And the guy said he would love to hang
around with him.

Now for the really neat news.

Will wrote his name for me on a scribble sheet. Its his first time to
do this for me.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Dmom3005 03-17-2014 08:38 PM

Okay, I had a very different than I planned day.

My son, Dan showed up at 8:30am. He had lost his glasses
at work on Friday. He waited till today, because he thought
he could get a prescription at his last place for glasses.

So I took him there even though I knew it was to long ago.
Nope they were even having trouble finding the file that had
his script in it.

So finally I got him going again. We came back home and
got Derrick. We then went to Walmart. I didn't realize
they can't do the same day anymore. Got a prescription.

Derrick had a visit and new prescription. And we ordered his
glasses.

Then off we went to look for some where that had a one hour
or same day. First places didn't have a open lab.

So off to Lenscrafters, we went. Got him some glasses.

One hour. What a long day.

Donna,

That is a big accomplishment -- getting the classes in one day -- even if it took a lot of work.

M

Dmom3005 03-19-2014 08:56 AM

Yep it was and very tiring.

I wanted to let everyone know I am going to be gone maybe from a computer also for the next few days.

If you don't hear from me that is why.

Friday the 21st of March is my 33 anniversary.

The plan is for Dale to join me in Indianapolis. Either tomorrow
night, or Friday sometime. So we can have a great day.

I have a autism fair on Saturday, and he is going to help me
till he has to leave to go get Derrick.

Hi everyone.

I had the most wonderful anniversary. It was a great three days.

We haven't been away together in a long time. And we shopped
and ran around on Friday.

We then ate a great dinner at Longhorns. We had never been there.

But we will probably go back.

My ribeye was so tender, it melted in my mouth.

Had extra that Dale ate yesterday.

Ugh, I'm really upset with the case manager for Derrick.

I have sent emails and asked that he be transferred. But he seems
to be ignoring me. I just sent an email to one of the bosses.

Hopefully when it gets to the right person. I'll get some answers.

donna :hug::grouphug:

oh I am sorry that you are unhappy with the case manager.
hope things get worked out soon.

Donna,

I hope that you and Derrick get what you want.

Mari

Dmom3005 03-25-2014 05:04 PM

Well its interesting, I heard from the person I emailed last night.
Wrong person, but she sent it on to the right supervisor.

This morning and afternoon I've gotten two or three emails
from the supervisor. And still even though I should be
nothing from the Case Manager. Going to assume he isn't
with his computer yet.

But we have action happening.

donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 03-26-2014 01:41 AM

Donna,

Good luck with this.
Your emails and persistence will bring you to what you want.

M

Dmom3005 03-26-2014 01:33 PM

Since by 11pm last night. Still not a peep from the Case Manager.
I requested a new one. And the person I have been emailing,
is taking care of things. I just signed the paperwork I've
been waiting on.

Yeah.

Next we took my grandson Will to the neurologist today.

He believes Will has Aphasia, I think its spelled right. Don't
know a lot about this yet. He is also looking to do blood
work to eliminate a chromosome missing, or fragile x as two
things.

He is also going to have a EEG and a MRI>

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Dmom3005 03-26-2014 02:25 PM

He is also sending him to Riley's Children's Developmental Center.

It could take 6 months.

donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 03-26-2014 09:27 PM

I hope you get some answers sooner than 6 months.

I hope that he can help Will.

Dmom3005 03-31-2014 10:04 AM

Hi everyone,

Derrick got a 75 cent raise this month. I just figured it out.

I am not positive he even realizes how big a raise this is.

But I'm so glad he got it. Even though it means less SSI.

But this is almost a 10% raise a hour.

Wow, is all I have to say.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Dmom3005 03-31-2014 10:06 AM

I forgot I had Mr. Will Friday night and Saturday.

We had a great time. And he was so good.

Now just to get him and grandpa more time.

They need to go looking for Cowboy Boots for him.

I am having trouble locating them though.
So will so some more research too.

Keep taking care of yourself too.

Mari

Dmom3005 04-01-2014 09:49 AM

Thanks ladies and Steve

Yep, I am taking care of myself. I got hurt on our Anniversary,
when I fell when the water was way to hot.

Trying to get out. And wow, its been a mess. Might have broke
or whatever you do to the bones in that rear end area.

But there is nothing anyone could do. So wont know.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 04-02-2014 09:26 PM

you fell?
and broke your tail bone?
ouch that is so painful.

Mari 04-02-2014 10:47 PM

Donna,

Did you see a doctor?

I hope you can get help.

M

Dmom3005 04-03-2014 02:54 PM

Ladies

No I didn't see a doctor. I don't believe the area I have problems
with can be done anything for. But time, so I am just being quiet
and careful. Hoping it heals soon.

Also everyone, if you would keep Derrick in your thoughts probably
the next week. His mentor, and the person who was responsible
for him being trained so well. Quit on Monday, he worked Tuesday
and Today without her.

Originally they told the crew that the staff would chose who took
over. Specifically someone that doesn't take the care and concern
of cats to heart. But today they learned that board members are
picking who is in final three. Then its being decided by a few
staff.

Derrick was put in the finals today, but he has a major problem.
He doesn't drive. But the girls that will probably be up against
him, both work as much in Dogs. And have told the board, and
staff it should be Derrick.

So they came up with a solution for the problem. THey will do
the driving for getting things. And he will run the cats area.

I think they are being very considerate.

I had a great dinner on Friday.

And I took a nice nap yesterday. Don't get that often anymore.
So it was much appreciated.

I am really sore again today. So not sure I'll do much.

Have a great Sunday, I plan too.

Oh I am so pleased with Derrick's new company.

Something happened and the girl that was scheduled.
Was stuck behind a accident.

So after a hour of hearing this. The person in charge
sent another staff member to meet him.

Dale had headed in, but that is okay. He chose to
have the girl go ahead and do the shift.

Hi everyone

Today I am so pleased with the update from the IEP that I have
for Will.

He is doing so much better than I can even tell. He knows 22/26 letters
were he knew none at the beginning of the year. This is fantastic.

He can count from 1 to 10. And also he counts by 10 to 100. And
I've heard him do the counting to 10. So I know this one is true.

But he also recognizes both the letters and numbers. Wow, I'm
so pleased.

Then I knew he was doing some reading. But didn't realize he
was in text A. This is great too.

Thanks for listening.

Dmom3005 04-11-2014 05:47 PM

Yes he will.

He will be with his dad, and grandparents.

Seems his mother thinks she will move to Kentucky.

She is finally changing his SSI to my son.
And now he will have to make sure the Medicaid is changed.

Also this way I think Devin will qualify for insurance (Medicaid)
