Right. That is the downside of traveling -- dealing with people and spaces you normally do not.

That is also the upside -- being somewhere different and being with fun people.

Donna,
:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

How is the healing coming?

Are you feeling good about your progress?

Mari

Dmom3005 05-31-2014 07:12 PM

The healing is coming that is about all I can say for it.

I need to do more standing with my walker. But have to
have someone around first.

I am doing okay. Just chilling.
Wishing I had ice cream.

Oh, good! Glad you are going to get to go, Donna. :)

It will be good for you. I can understand feeling stuck not being able to go anywhere, and not really even being able to move around a whole lot. It's going to get better now though.:hug:

Dmom3005 05-31-2014 08:48 PM

Yep, but hit a snag trying to reserve a room.

My IN*SOURCE co-worker said that it would be $85.00

I can't seem to get the rate. So Monday will have her
figure it out.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

bizi 05-31-2014 09:08 PM

I hope you can get the room at that rate. maybe phone the hotel manager?

Dmom3005 05-31-2014 09:41 PM

I put a email into the person with our group that does the reserving.

I am just hoping the accessible room is still available on Monday.
I could finally take a shower. Ugh, it would be so nice.

Donna,

Showers are nice -- especially when you do not have one for a while.

I hope that the rate on the room works out for you.

I just hope nothing happens and they give the room to someone else.

Since my reservation was on the phone. It should be okay.

I got a email, saying they weren't guaranteed when requesting. But
I think that is when you make it on the internet.

I received a sad call today. But I knew it was coming.

My Case Manager for the insurance company called me to tell
me she was not going to be it anymore. But that I could
call for other issues.

I now have to figure out how to deal with the new one.

Thanks, I'm doing okay I had a pity party off and on all day by myself.

Which I think I needed. My husband isn't feeling well tonight.
He informed me he doesn't have to work tomorrow. But that
was a surprise. I didn't get informed he might work.

My friend is supposed to get me out on Monday. To run my errands.
But she is under the weather now. Ugh, I hope it is better by next
weekend. I am really going to be upset if I miss my trip.

Dmom3005 06-08-2014 01:53 PM

Gosh I want of the rollercoaster I seem to be on.

Now my trip could be in jeopardy. My friend who was taking me
is sick. Not sure what, but she has been getting steadly worse.

saying some prayers, that she turns around fast.

Failing that, is there anyone else you could enlist to give you a ride?

Perhaps a coworker, or one of your volunteers?

As of now she is planning to go still.

She is one of my volunteers. And she believes it was a allergic reaction
to medication that was given to her on Thursday.

But they told her to keep her doctor's apt on Tuesday. Her iron is very
low, and she can't take the pills.

5th place Running long jump (new age category, he is one of the youngest now)
3rd place Javlin throw. (Brand new this year.)
4th place 4 x 100 relay. He and one other are only ones left from

I really missed being there. But the coach's daughter put lots on their page.

Special Olympics

Donna, I found a news cast of the opening of the Special Olympics in Terre Haute from a few days ago:

http://wthitv.com/2014/06/06/special...s-with-a-bang/

Quote:

Folks from all over the Wabash Valley lent a hand to help try to break a world record with the longest high five line.

That’s just one example of the festivities of Special Olympics Indiana opening ceremonies.

“This is an extra-special event where we honor the athletes, the coaches, the volunteers, but we also have quite a lot of fun,” said Paula Meyer, Indiana State University. “It’s probably the highlight of the summer for all of these athletes and their families. They love coming to Terre Haute, they love coming to campus, but the thing they look forward to the most is opening ceremonies.”
M

Dmom3005 06-09-2014 09:14 PM

Yes, this is a great one.

They are working for the longest high 5 line.
Don't know when they will know.
Can't remember if this one shows Melony Salla
Lighting the torch. but she is one of our athletes.

She is Athlete of the year.

Dmom3005 06-11-2014 09:08 AM

Yum, first we went to Kohl's, and thankfully he doesn't know how much I saved there. Heehee, 250.00. But I spent about 130.00. Thanks to the
clerk trying to get me a higher percentage off, because I have a credit card.
With scratching off 3 of the cards. All 3 were 15%. The clerk was nice, she
gave me 20%.

I found some really nice shirts for work, a skort that my husband will love.
I plan to wear it on Sunday, for fathers day and Derrick's birthday.
Some shorts.

Then we were at k-mart. And when I'm in a shopping mode that is the wrong place to go. They had shorts, shirts and capri's for under $10.00 that I loved.
Some were even under $5.00. Wow.

So my cart and my husbands cart were full. I bought a neat 4th of july shirt,
For me and my friend. And Jessica a shirt. I told her if she spent 6 or 7 dollars on a shirt, she was to get 2. So she would really look and find something she liked. When she didn't want to get one, I told her she either picked one out or I did.

Got Will 2 pairs of jeans that are adjustable, for 7.99, a set of pajama's of course batman. And a shirt. He also got 2 pairs of pajama pants at Kohls,
they were clearance.

Ethan, picked out 2 or 3 pairs of really neat shorts, a shirt with headphones on it. And a Mario shirt. I think a couple more shirts too. He also got two pairs of shorts from Kohl's. And a neat Tony Hawk shirt, that I was pretty sure he would like. And another that I got both him and Will.

So then I also found a great pair of jean shorts in my size. And a pajama set.
I got a nice bonus last week. Still don't know the exact number.
So I splurged. And I spent 300.00, paid 200.00 cash and put 103.00 on
charge. I will pay off soon both charges.

Hubby, can be happy or mad. I could care less, anyone that can't locate
my stuff at home. Just needs a reality check. But I sure need to go
through things and we have a garage sale this year.

Also bought supplies for our trip.

One last set of great news. My husband got a different job yesterday.
That is why he was in town. He started this morning its a lot less driving
for him usually. Today he had to go to main shop, so it was probably
about the same. But usually about 30 minutes at most to new site.
Also new contractor, and he was really upset with what they were doing
at the new building site. I'm glad my sons didn't get a job there. Not
sure its going to be a safe place to work.

Also this morning, he comes in with my breakfast and hot tea. Comments
really happy that he is loving his new time for leaving and all.
