Yes, Steve,

I keep my office cleaner than every body else I see around me does.
I keep clutter off the surfaces and periodically purge the drawers.

I have space for a little lava lamp, a plant, a radio, and such. I have things on the walls I like. The point is I want people to be nice when they come to my office and I want to be calm when I am there.

The office is not perfect, but I do what I can so that I can be comfortable and calm.
(Every once in a while I move the few things that are on the desk, turn off the light, and lie down to rest.)

----
For some reason I am not able to do this at home. I am working on purging and then organizing what is left.

I don't like power failure either. I hope that the sun light comes back tomorrow for you. BF
Steve,

The rain lasted almost twenty four hours but it was strongest and thundering during the night time.

We probably do not have the kinds of antennas that you have.
I will ask hubby if our stuff is grounded.

Thumbs up

Mari.

Getting rid of stuff is hard for me. Do you find it hard?

I have a lot of clutter. I declutter periodically, but it creeps back. I cannot seem to keep things clear.

Your office space sounds lovely. It sounds like you have struck the perfect balance between practical and pretty.

Red face

I just wanted to share that I hired my girl friends daughter to come over and dust the entire shelving units it took her almost 2 hours to dust the whole thing. It has been a thorn in my side for years!I am soooo happy that she agreed to do this for me.
she is going to come over tomorrow night and help me with some more paperwork stuff for my business. I am so grateful for the help.

My floors are some sort of artificial wood. It's like a wooden floor through the whole apartment. I like it that way.

I can take a push flat mop,and go over all of the floors. Then I vacuum under the flat mop. Its called a Libman mop. The exact one is called a" Libman All-Purpose Microfiber Flat Mop. I works very well. Then I vacuum the flat mop head, and the floor directly under it when I'm finished. I flat mop one room at a time.

When I have a heavy duty job of dusting,I use a computer air blower device to blow the dust away in one hand, and usually some sort of feather duster after that in my other hand. I need to do it soon. I can wear a respirator air devise over my nose, and mouth.

I need to do this dusting soon. BF

Waves,

Getting rid of stuff is becoming less and less hard over the years but it is hard. One problem is lack of focus and low energy levels.

I am trying to go by something like this:
http://www.slowyourhome.com/declutte...imental-items/
1. Make sure it is useful
2. Make sure it is beautiful

But there are better rules and I cannot find them right now.
==

When I was living in "temporary" rented places I kept stuff in boxes.
After we bought this place five years ago. I had to find places for the stuff and it turns out the space is not unlimited. (Or as I remind hubby, "our space finite.)

Lots of stuff comes in during the school year.
In the summer I try to get the levels of stuff back down to what they were at the end of the summer before.
Then my hope is to get to the layers under that layer.
None of what I achieve of course is done in a linear manner.

Bizi,

That is great. Can you get her to come periodically?

The laminate floors are more work than carpet but they are good in that they can get clean.
I remember that my old therapist was concerned about the floors when I was moving in here. Apparently she did not like carpets. She was relieved when I told her the place had laminate.

My friend has cats with tile floors. It is a constant battle so she has a cleaning lady twice a week.

Steve,

You probably have the same floors Bizi and I have: Laminate
http://china-floor.en.made-in-china....esign-38-.html

That is a good dusting system. Yes, wear something over your nose and mouth.

Does a vacuum or mop work just as well?

Default Depressed

I am depressed.

I feel crummy.

I made hubby drive me to the pharmacy for my Klonopin but they were already closed (We were there at 7:00 and they closed at 6:00).

I am too worn out to care . . . I slept enough "last night" but I do not feel like dealing with anything and feel like crying.

We will go back earlier tomorrow.
