Default I hope no one minds

Even though I post here, I mainly have adult son's that have bipolar tendencies and a daughter like in law with possible it. And I work with
adults and kids with it. Anyway, I need some people who would understand
to talk too.

I have been having breathing problems, mainly having problems catching my breath when trying to walk, and stuff. I've been through testing and things.
And all has come back fine so far. But now I get to go to a heart doctor.
The nurse of the pulmonary doctor scared the heck out of me originally because her words were that the pulmonary doctor was sending me for a left and right cath, hmmmm, I couldn't understand how he could diagnosis that.

It turns out he technically didn't but I think that is what he thinks I need and he is sending me to the specialist that does that. I realize its technically
a minor thing, but for me its major. I've always had a heart murmur and I've always known that some needed surjery as babies for them, and some as older children, but mine is just there supposedly, but then why would I need
antibiotics for any infection, teeth cleaning and things if thats the case.
Precautionary supposedly .

And then my balance problems are getting lots worse the last few years and
now they are really bad, and I'm doing testing, and its really making me wonder if I'm just a clutsz or if finally they will find something. Finding a neuro that handles migraines and the balance things both is good.

But wow why now.

Hi Donna,

I surely don't mind you posting here with us, I am really sorry you're going through a rough time right now. I had a minor heart mumor too as a child but they never did any surgery for it because it was minor. I am really sorry you're having migraines too. I get those now and again, not a lot thankfully, but when I get them they can last for three days...

I hope that they can help you to find what is going on so you can start feeling better soon. My mom had trouble getting winded and she had some procedure done where they put a stint in her aorta or something. She is much better now and going on 60 this year. do you have trouble with your ears at all? I know they are connected with balance so maybe you have something going on there-or is this progressively getting worse and it's like definitely gone on longer then any possible ear thing could go?

I am glad you posted, I hope it makes you feel better to know you're not alone Donna.

Hi Donna,

I can feel for you. You can use all the support you can get. I wish I could ease your worries. Try to stay busy mentally or physically if you can to get a break from your fears. Maybe order something online that wouldn't be a financial burden to you?

Red face

Dear Donna,
I am glad that you are going to a cardiologist.
Maybe they can find out what is wrong with you so that they can then treat you. Are you having any fluid weight gain, like in your lower legs or around your waist....this could be a protein insufficiency.
The shortness of breath is a common syptom for someone having too much fluid in their system and the doctor may prescribe a fluid pill to help get some of the fluid off...if this is the problem.
This sounds scarey for you and I would be a basket case...
There is a heart scan that they can do that is like a cat scan of your heart..it is called a calcium heart score test here. It checked my coronary arties for any blockages, took 5 minutes and totally non-invasive.
Keep us posted.
I am pretty sure they will be able to figure out what is going on so that you can be feeling better real soon.
If you get really bad the ER is always an option for you if you need immediate attention.
I wish you wellness.
((((HUGS))))

Hi,
I am sorry to hear about having this breathing problem. I as a child was told I had a heart murmur but would grow out of it, never did, but I am not one that needs meds prior to dental procedures or anything.

I think you are doing the best thing by seeing a heart doctor and finding a neurologist too.

I wish I knew what to tell you. My mom had a heart sonagram/scan whatever they call it, where they put gel on you and roll this device around and watch a screen, it can show a lot. Maybe they can do that first.

Do you smoke? I do, and get out of breathe sometimes from that when doing to much. Maybe it's asthma? I am just thinking of things that could cause this.

How long do you have to wait for your appointment?

We are all here for you. I would be nervous too, but hang in there until you know what is going on. I know easier said then done.

Lots of Hugs, Nikko

I agree, it it gets bad, get to the ER.

Default shortness of breath

Hi Donna,
I have some breathing issues that concerned me. A few test were done and some results. I was diagx with adult onset asthma, they did a pulmanary push test of some kind. Introduced things that could produce symptoms. I only made it ti the second round and had severe reactions, coughing, shortness of breath.

Exersize can induce symptoms too. running up the steps, taking two flights of steps.

Because of the heart murmur and my complaint of a racing heart I wore a haltor heart monitor. It did show correspondance to symptoms and heart racing. I was diagx with anxiety and panic disorder.
same reaction as the excersized induced symptoms of asthma.

I hope that your health improves and they have answers for your symptoms and concerns. It is very fretful to be told of potential heart problems.

It is good to have supportive friends even if they are friends wthout faces on the forum. They are great here and have helped me sooooo much.
Hugs and feel better,
Dianne

I am doing okay, just chilling this weekend.

I have been busy and having issues with falls seems my balance wants me on the ground. Like usual that isn't the best place sometimes. On top of that I seem to have the luck of not being able to get back up without much help.
Luckily so far when I've fallen there has been many that have stopped to help. But its taking a toll on my legs and feet.

But the cardiologist isn't sure that a cath is the right next step, which I'm so glad that she is more willing to do testing to figure out if there is a reason for my problems first. So I'm scheduled to have a doppler of some kind in July,
and then a stress echogram on July 25th. Wow, even though it sounds like
such a long time away, they only do this test once a week and they also have to have the doctor present so its a wait and wait till they have room.
SO that is perfectly okay I'll wait.

Then to top things off I had my balance test, and I know there were issues,
but I don't know the extent of them. I know that I will be seeing a vestibular therapist at sometime, but not before July and I don't go back to this doctor till June 25th so I have a while to wait too. But at least I have a few answers. To a degree on this one I'm just so glad its not just in my head,
after falling 2 times last week, I was really glad I knew there was a reason
for it.

Know just to wait and hope I can get some help.

Donna,

I hope things with your health will work out. Your right too, June 25th does seem like a long time. I have a colonoscopy scheduled around that time and to me it seems like forever.

Dear Donna,
I hope that you get some answers and some good news soon.

By any chance, have the drs checked your B12 levels.
