My mug holds 10 ounces, exactly two of our teacups -- simpler than brewing 2 together or in succession, but feels odd to guzzle tea.

A perk about having tea is that I don't use much sugar... only 1/3 tsp per cup. 5 calories, lol. (Compared to 1 or 1-1/2 tsp per cup of coffee).

Good luck with this tea plan, Waves.

Red face

hi waves I slept well thanks.
Got up at 7 which is earlier for me on a sunday just felt like getting up. We are going out of town to go to the Unitarian church with our friends. WE need to be at their house by 9;30.
I ate left over chicken this morning, don't know when we will eat lunch and I am thinking I will just have a salad so the extra protein this morning will keep me satisfied where ever we go eat lunch.

As far as the coffee goes I measure out our cups and they are about 8 ounces! I have stopped at one because we are out of left over coffee from yesterday. I won't make another pot unless Jeff does.
I guess even just 2 cups of coffee you can addicted to it?????
Have a great day! I really enjoyed my cup, half and half and stevia to sweeten. Yum!

Yes even two cups you can have dependence but it's very quick to dissipate.

Glad you enjooyed the one cup. Hope it does the trick for you. I hope Jefff doesn't make any. IT would be very hard for me to resist fresh-brewed coffee if someone else were making it, and perfusing the house with that wonderful aroma... sigh.

Enjoy your day.

Well it was just the one day I had a serious problem (range halved). The doctor saw no effects on the larynx, for now, but if the condition persists there can be. I probably have laryngopharyngeal reflux which is a subset of GERD I believe. This is often called "silent reflux" because the typical symtoms are absent.

http://www.webmd.com/heartburn-gerd/...-silent-reflux

Quote:
Complications of Laryngopharyngeal Reflux

Stomach acid that pools in the throat and larynx can cause long-term irritation and damage. Without treatment, it can be serious.
In adults, silent reflux can scar the throat and voice box. It can also increase risk for cancer in the area, affect the lungs, and may irritate conditions such as asthma, emphysema, or bronchitis.
The cancer doesn't make me fearful I guess becausee it seems less imminent than possible vocal changes, or tooth damage.

love

Today so far I've already had 4 cups of tea (two mugfuls, lol) as I didn't sleep and now have to go make vegs for dinner... then eat, then wash up... so will probably be another two cups.

The burning seems less pronounced, thus far today. It is my second day with no coffee, just tea. It may be because I haven't eaten much, but I did eat some cheese. And I don't usually eat much at a time anyway. So perhaps it is a good sign. Fingers crossed.

If you can get completely off, all the better.

I couldn't. But got super close. I have GERD and love coffee. I got down to a half a cup of regular coffee in the morning and a half a cup of 1/2 and 1/2 coffee in the afternoon. (If I'm over tired in the afternoon, I'll have a 1/2 cup of regular coffee).

Anything below this causes fatigue and headaches.

So....for me, I found the perfect solution. I found this product at Walgreens and on line called "Prelief." I take two tablets before my half a cup of regular coffee and one tab before my half caff. Seems to be primarily calcium and I don't know why it works, but this tablet does the trick. And I only take it about two minutes before my coffee.

Most, if not all of my doctors are ok with this small amount of coffee and system. For me, it's working out. When I drink more than this, my stomach gets a little upset, so it's not worth it. When I drink less, I often get a headache. Kind of a mess, but I enjoy coffee, and this allows me to have a little coffee very comfortably.

That's actuallly a good idea. It might work as an antacid. Remember Tums? The active ingredient in that is calcium carbonate. It had so much calcium in it it that the bottle gave directions for use as a supplement, LOL. (Not that I'd recommend using a supplement with that much sugar in it, but still.)

Take care.

waves

edited to add that I googled Prerelief, and it is indicated as an "acid reducer"
http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/pre...105623-product

I will try taking an antacid before it, if I do end up having any coffee.

Awesome!
I think Tums is fine, but just double check. I took Gaviscon for awhile and to my shock, ended up with a lot aluminum in my system as this product (at least at the time) had aluminum in it. I know Tums has coloring in it. Surely, Tums should be ok, but I just have a suspicion that this one (Prelief) is a little more natural. Just a suspicion. People with bladder problems also use it. It just seems to neutralize things nicely. I'm amazed at the difference. I don't abuse it. It works very well for me to allow me to have a little coffee every day. Those who use it, love it. Yet, wouldn't you know it...most doctors have never heard of it. Go figure!

Hope this gets you to the Amazon reviews...many are taking it for burning bladder...a few down is someone taking it to drink coffee
