They don't do warnings here. Ever. I don't panic at all, I just get very very very very GRRRRRRRR.

Last night, the power companies went to an emergency rotation plan, in response to an over-consumption blackout in the nearby city.

People are drew more power than our electrical plants put out.

This is probably due to the heat ... cooling devices used more and working harder. You might not find that surprising. It didn't surprise me when I lived in the West Indies, where some islands didn't even have electricity. Not to mention violent storms were constantly tearing stuff down and sometimes blocking access routes for repair people.

Here, I find it friggin outrageous, because:

1. The city in question is a European Industrial Capital.

2. This happens Every. Friggin. Summer.

Hello?????

Expand a plant? Build another one? Fix up one of the many abandoned/deserted ones?

Sorry. Thank you for listening to my spew.

You know, I really think that it should be worked out that people like you and I get a shot at being in charge.
. . . . Let someone else (not the usual suspects) have a whack at running things. We might do a better job. If not, nothing is lost/different.

Cool Rain

The rains have started here.

That is good and bad. Thunder wakes me up in the afternoons.

Yet we apparently have drought conditions (who knew??). I love not having rain but I do not get to choose and I suppose I would miss it if we had to go to rationing water.)

Some years people are given rules about watering their lawns less.

REALLY!!!! Seriously!!!!
What good reason is it to use up valuable resources for sprinkling green grass
AND THEN paying people to cut the grass!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
(both make too much noise BTW).

We should have yards that are xeriscape (no need for watering):

See links for pictures.

Mari

I would love to send you Indiana's rain. We are not needing it right now.
We are in such tormenting times. I have been in tornado warnings twice
this week. Two struck in a County just over our line. And Two struck
today in another county.

Ugh, go away rain.

Donna,

I completely understand.
Summer can bring us wild/weird weather.

Well yet another night of storms last night. And today its 93 and index
of 103 I believe. Also my area is under tornado watch.

Yesterday two struck in Tippecanoe county on opposite sides of county.
Its not too far again from me.

Rained during the night, and now today its already rained. No warning
or watches yet. hopefully no flood warnings coming either.

So many in Indiana are under water already.

Tropical Storm Danny is expected to turn into a hurricane afterover the course of a few days.
We are watching for it to turn North or West. North and East is best.
