Well, I made it through court!

It wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. I plead guilty and got the minimum.

Part of the sentence for conviction/guilty plea is an impaired driver program... I have to have an intake/screening (for risk of substance abuse, I suppose) done within 14 days. They have you running around collecting paperwork that you probably can't get within that time frame. Then, if the screening's "positive," which my likely will be, I have another 16 days to get an evaluation done. Then, if that's "positive," they'll prescribe a treatment plan that I have to follow. Then I have to take a 20hr driving program before I can get my license back.

If I'm late even a day, I'll be in contempt of court.

This is all BIG money out of my pocket.

Of course I can't drive myself to any of these things, so my poor husband is already stressed out driving me around.

The 1st available appointment the first place I called had was on a Weds at 11:30, 1 day before my deadline. I took it, but my husband can't keep taking days off from work for this. I'm hoping that my friend can drive me, but I don't feel comfortable relying on him. I have 1 more place I can call on Monday (fingers crossed).

[B]I'm sooo stressed out.[B]
I'm like a mexican jumping bean. My bum barely hits the couch and I'm up again. There's too much unknown, and I have no control- it's driving me nuts.
I feel like I'm putting way too much pressure on my husband. It's not just running errands, or even picking me up from doctors' appointments... He's getting punished for my mistake.

Kay

p.s.

Mari,
I haven't stopped the risperdal. I'm going to ride it out until I see the pdoc again on the 25th. I figured I have enough going on.

Can you take a taxi or something like that if the friend can't help the

That pressure really stinks, Kay.
The criminal justice "system" makes people go through tremendous hoops to be compliant.

Don't feel bad for your husband.
He knows that this needs to work out not just for you but for the two of you as a couple.

Donna,
I was arrested in New Hampshire, but live on the state line in Massachusetts. There's an approved center that's not too far away from me, but would be very expensive by taxi. However, that's an option if necessary.

I called the other center, but the only appointment they could offer was more unrealistic...

I called another friend of mine today to let him know how things went and he offered to give me a ride! I feel much better because he is much more reliable. Whew!!!

I just have to go to the DMV's in both states and get copies of my driving records and I'm set, but I'm going to go crazy over that piece until I get it over with. I can take a cab downtown to get the MA records, but I have to worry waiting for a day my husband gets out early enough to take me to the DMV in NH.

I'm not going to rush to take the driving classes to finish and get my license back as early as I can. It's so expensive. There's no time constraints on that piece, thank God.

My anxiety is so high- can't wait until this "program" is over. I have enough anxiety to begin with, don't need the extra.

Oh, I forgot to tell you my new tdoc called me Friday night to ask me how everything went because she knew how anxious I was about going to court. Very nice.

Kay,

I love hearing about your new tdoc calling you.
And good news about the friend offering to give you a ride.

You are getting the pieces together. You "sound" good here -- if that makes sense.

I hope you can feel good about what you have accomplished these past weeks.
Stay steady and stay focused on wellness.

Kay I'm sorry for all of the trouble, and pain that you are going through. My sister has MS,and I know that it's more difficult then most people realize. Her MS keeps getting worse. Some peoples MS goes into remission for periods of time. My sister has the spasms, and areas of pain that feels like fiber optic type wires burning, and going down her legs. Now she can't walk. I'll stop there. I'm just saying that I know something about MS,and I'm sorry that you are going through this.

I'm familiar with Seroquel, and Xanax. Taking a small dose of Xanax helps with the fear, and panic attacks. Seroquel will put you to sleep at first, and then as time goes by,it will cause a major slow down in activity depending on the dose. Seroquel can make you feel faint a half hour after you take it if it's a large dose. The only good time you can take it is after 6 PM,or when you are home for the evening unless the doctor says otherwise.

I know what you mean about anxiety, and dreading future events. We don't know what will happen in our future,so it's hard to think about it. You will receive strength tomorrow when tomorrow comes. It's hard to see this now. If you can, just live one day at a time, and concentrate on one thing at a time in the order of the legal issues. Take care of the most important issues, and don't let them frighten you. The way they word legal business is enough to scare anyone. They are just as human as we are,and I wish that they would be easy with the wording of these papers, and documents.

I will pray a prayer for you to receive favor in sight of the judge, and legal system, and for your MS,and anxiety. BF

Thank you so much everyone

I'm still having major anxiety and confidence issues. My husband is really frustrated with me right now... I'm, well, keeping it together.

Brokenfriend, I appreciate your sympathy in regards to my MS. I have a gait disorder and use a cane, but I'm fortunate in as I can still walk. I also have the spasms and sensory issues your sister does... among other things.

I don't take seroquel any more because I was hit-the-dirt passing out. But when I was on it, it was meant to be a mood stabilizer. I did take it during the day, but the passing out started at only 150mg.
