I don't know if anyone out there remembers me... At any rate, My name is Kay. I'm 34yo F, married, no kids. I'm disabled d/t the symptoms of MS.
It's been a long time since I've posted. TOO LONG. As, I tried to do the unthinkable in December.

I found myself in the hospital for 3 days and voluntarily committed until I was transferred to a medical ward for treatment for a MS relapse.
I was very angry that I was still alive.

I have a pretty good idea of how it all went awry. To me it's a long story, but I can also tie it up in a neat package (see bold):

My usual warning that I was going manic was that I wold stop off for a beer before going home, and end up getting home after last call. Not good for a marriage...
Just as these incidents were increasing, I got ****** off at lithium because I developed hyperparathyroidism in addition to the hyperthyroidism it already caused. My NP decided to try me on Seroquol, but when I titrated up to 150mg I started passing out. The NP told me to stop taking it. I scheduled and rescheduled appointments, but never went back.

On no medication at all, drinking more, I left my husband and moved in with my dad (BIG mistake). Oh, and I got a DUI.

They released me on Depakote even though it rendered me virtually blind. My NP was throwing out the names of other drugs, but oddly enough, I asked for lithium. I'm dry now. It's the devil I know. If other s/e come up, or lithium's not doing the job, we can revisit the issue.

I'm safe now, I can see, and my husband and I have reconciled. I'll never wear short sleeves again, but it's not all bad news.

Sorry to hear you have been having hard time... Im so happy you are still here with us and back !

I was arrested for a DUI in December and I have court on Thursday. I got no sleep last night. I don't think I'll be getting any until it's over and done with.
I just hope I don't have a panic attack in front of the judge. I take xanax, it helps, but the anxiety never really goes away.

Has anyone taken risperdal?
NOW I have so much saliva, I've drooled on occasion. Sometimes it's awkward to talk because my mouth's so full of spit.
Also, I've missed 2 periods (not pregnant), have swollen/painful breasts, and have gained weight....
Don't you think that this is grounds to stop taking it?

Stay on the Risperadal until after the court date.

I have not taken it but I know that that it has a difficult side effects.

After the court date, your pdoc should be able to /lower the dose or find a different medication for you.

i have been on risperdal for over ten years....it did cause weight gain..no other
side effects

How are you holding up? what did the judge say?
