Bizi,
Call your doctor early Thursday morning. Try to get in for an examination Thursday or Friday (before the weekend). M |
I think it is gas.
I have been eating all of the wrong foods: dairy apples pears brocolli califlower sugar lentils beans but this is my normal diet! I will go to a walk in clinic if it gets worse. jeff thinks I should see someone in a couple of days if not better. that falls on the weekend. thanks mari.:o I took fennel and 2 gas ex |

(Cumin helps digestion too sometimes.) Take a break from the beans and such for three days and see if it makes any difference. Maybe the diet is not the issue. I hope that you get better. M |
I wonder if they can do an ultra sound at a walk in clinic? I should call.

Bizi:
Beans are like the number one thing you need to avoid right now, and eggs are right up there. Just forget these foods until you feel much better OR have ruled out the gas hypothesis. Do not eat any beans/legumes or eggs. That includes peanuts which are legumes not nuts, and peanut butter. Bad idea foods -- short list: Beans/legumes -- (big no-no!) Eggs (also big no-no!) Milk, although yogurt does not cause as much of a problem. Cruciferous vegetables -- broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and its relatives Mushrooms -- these were on Mari's list; I forgot about them... they are least as bad as broccoli. The problem isn't all about fermentation. Yes, that can cause some gas: yeasts digest the sugars and release carbon dioxide gas. But eggs and cruciferous vegs, for instance contain sulfurous compounds which break down during digestion, not by fermentation, to produce hydrogen sulfide gas. That might be the thing with mushrooms too (not sure). ========== It concerns me a little, Bizi, that you've had this pain for several days now, despite eating the same things you usually eat. I'd say go to the clinic for a consultation, but I would not (personally) ask for an ultrasound - if they think there could be a different problem, they will request one... or you can at that point request one depending what they say. waves |
I skipped the half and half this mornings coffee.
Had strawberries and blueberries and lactose free blueberry yogurt, did not eat the sugary blueberries on the bottom of the cup. had chicken squash beets and collards for lunch today. then for dinner had chicken with a little bit of cream cheese and bacon. baked, hardly ever eat bacon! more strawberries and blueberries. We had steamed califlower,,,i know, on the bad list but it was raw and needed to be eaten. Jeff was cooking and he steamed it to very tender consistency I did not eat that much of it. ....:o My stomach feels better over all. I might have strained too hard while trying to have a bm...that could be part of the problem. It is not as tender so maybe this will just go away. I sure hope so. still taking the fennel 3 capsules twice a day. and taking gas ex at night. I am not as bloated tonight and my thigh feels better. I was going to go to the gym but took a nap instead. Sort of afraid to go as I will try to jog again now that it has been 3 + weeks. Did a modified pigeon stretch tonight. no pain!!!!!:) I really need to do some paperwork, need to make a deposit. Maybe I can get up early tomorrow and make one. bizi I have a whole bowl full of organic apples and pears....sigh |
Glad its better Bizi.
Donna :hug::grouphug: |
thank you donna, yes it is better to day.
Have not been following the diet very well. maybe it was just something that I ate got me irritated??? bizi |
Back down to 139.5 this morning.
Took me a whole month to back here after an 8 day mod/dd alcohol lapse. Not drinking is truly the only way for me to lose weight. we watched american sniper last night. good movie. Real portrayal of war. Am working today then going to a blueberry festival at 6 pm. heading for my second cup of coffee. bizi |

Glad that you are doing better. I love Bradley Cooper despite his acting abilities. I hope he finds a director who can help bring out his talents. M |
hi mari!
after work I had to go sign paperwork to trade in the car and this put us behind schedule. We did not go to the blueberry festival nor see a play but went to dinner and a movie. We had a gift card to the movies so we went to see jurasic world tonight. It was fun, not as good as the real jurasic park! Jeff bought a new car! A peacock blue honda civic si, sports car. He loves it. We will be driving back to Indy this july for our bi-annual pilgrimage. bizi |
up early this morning. 5 am. Have had 4 cups of coffee. read some news on line, just picked up the local paper which usually takes me hours to read. Will take a much needed shower this morning. and I have to do billing and other paper work that I have been avoiding for far too long(like usual).
Hattie kitty is crying outside the bed room door so I shut her out of the hall way but she continues to cry for treats/Jeff who is sleeping and can't hear her with her blocked from the hall but I do and she drives me crazy. I have tried giving her treats before to get her to be quiet and it doesn't work. They have to be from Jeff so I gave up that many months ago when I get up early on certain mornings like today. bizi |
HI bizi
sorry your not feeling well but hope you are feeling better soon have you tried sultanas and warm water. |
hi dianne,
I am feeling much better! Tummy issues have mostly resolved. Left thigh injury is almost healed....thinking about going to the gym today. HOpe your weekend is going well. bizi |
Hope you made it to the gym Bzi.
Donna :hug::grouphug: |
Thanks Donna,
I must get some paperwork done before indulging in the gym. Have a great summer solstice! bizi |
well so much for getting paperwork done. I just got up from a 2 hour nap. I needed it! I only slept about 4 1/2 hours last night.
We went for breakfast this morning like usual. Had 3 eggs scrambled, with spinach and a side of brocolli and a side of black bean salsa heated up and put over my eggs. It was extra spicy today and delicious! Will have chicken today baked I think not sure how to cook it actually. It is coated with a rub...and we will have edemame and strawberries and blueberries and half an avocado if they are ripe. Sounds like a healthy dinner. While we were at whole foods they have samples of this dark chocolate that is heavenly, we splurged on a couple of bars. And I bought some soup mix, Pho with rice noodles add chicken. Sounds tasty! Now I simply must do some billing at least. bizi |
I never made it to the gym but did finish my billing. Went to a nami support group meeting tonight they meet the 1st and 3rd sundays of the month.
WE heard from susan's hubby paul that she is doing better, that her meds are finally kicking in and helping. She is still in north carolina, not sure what her plans are. going to watch x-files. and hit the hay. bizi |
Good job, getting the billing done! :)
I am glad to hear Susan is doing better. Maybe it is not the meds so much as a more nurturing environment, with fewer pressures and responsibilities. waves |
Waves I think both are true. nature nurture and meds.
She is in a nurturing environment, her sister who has been there and done that with the depression thing. I missed her telephone call yesterday and returned her call to get her voice mail... rats. Got a decent nights sleep last night. woke up at 5;30 to go pee and then back to bed for a few more hours of hard sleep. Alarm went off at 8 and I turned it off and went back to sleep then woke up at 8;17, made coffee and here I sit. Looked at the papers obituaries to see if any of my clients have passed away. getting ready to get ready for a busy day. I hope to make it tot he gym but my paper work nags for my attention, charting is out of hand. I have not been to the gym in 12 days. bizi |
Good luck to getting back to the Gym.
Sending good thoughts Donna :grouphug: |
I vote for the gym too.
It doesn't preclude paperwork, and might help motivate you. |
I went to the gym!
walked 3.5 mph for one hour. my thigh was fine I tried to walk at an incline but started getting over taxed and thought I should not push myself. so went back down to zero incline. my thigh is still sore but not as much. so that is better. bizi |
Great going, Bizi! :)

If I don't get better soon, I am going to see a sports medicine chiropractor.
2 friends of mine swear by them, and the geaux run group on face book recommended them as well. so I will seek their advice and instructions. bizi |

A chiro who specializes in sports meds would be useful. Mari |
Hope you start doing better soon.

Hubbies right shoulder is painful so much more than mine. He injured his yanking on the wild vines that were climbing all of the way up our tall magnolia tree in the back yard. It is painful to him just putting on his shirts and taking them off.
My thigh muscle is sore (doing certain activities) not painful. And it is weak. It has been 4 weeks today since the injury/over use. bizi |
That sucks, Bizi. Mom and I have both had those kinds of over-reaching shoulder injury. I hope Jeff feels better soon. NSAIDS have helped mom and me both with this kind of thing, but we also reduced movement until the injury healed. When my mom had a bad one she had to go through some PT, to rehab, as well.

How is your Hubbie's shoulder doing? I hope that your thigh heals.:hug::hug: Keep taking care. M |
hubby said his shoulder was a little better yesterday. So I am glad about that. Thanks for asking mari.
I was able to do some altered lunges stretches yesterday holding onto a side table for balance. It felt good to stretch. I will do this stretch twice a day...I can't seem to do squats. and the pigeon stretch seems to hurt let me try this morning, now to see if it still hurts to do it. It was uncomfortable but not really painful so that is good. Wednesday night I was on the arc trainer for half an hour which is like a stepper machine but more like a glider... my thigh muscle is so much better. I think that I will try to do a leg press at the gym this weekend. To try to build up all of my thigh muscles, wonder how long that would take to strengthen them. Wonder when I can initiate jogging, am afraid to really. bizi who is bored to tears of walking on the tred mill. |
Bizi,
I looked up the arc trainer because I do not remember seeing them at our gym. Pretty nice way to work out!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuxnFgdAjS4 I looked up Seated Leg presses. (I saw a guy doing something really stupid with it yesterday.) I am sooo happy we have Youtube to help us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq5uxXrXq7c It looks great. Mari |
ours are similar, they do not have movable arms. just legs that you can adjust the incline the video looks like it is a t a max incline like a stair master. I will increase my gliding position as I increase time and have faith in my thigh.Do you think this is comparable to running at all ?
bizi |
yes: heart rate

That is interesting. When I did the eliptical machine I felt more strain on my knees. I feel none on the arc trainer. I guess I was just wondering if it could replace jogging on the tred mill. I still want to be able to run the 10 k in november. I have mapped out a 3.1 mile course in my neighbor hood.
That is a 5 k. I guess I won't know if I am up to it until I just try. 138.5 this am 8.5 pounds from goal weight. bizi Went shopping last night bought a new pair of capri's khaki color for my new york trip with my parents in august. |
Capri's sound nice.
Congratulations on the weight loss. |
Well The cat was crying and we still have a guest(17 year old abigail) sleeping in our living room. (It has been a cat free zone since we moved in 13 years ago.) She moved there when the cat hair really bothered her sleeping(neck itching) on our guest bedroom bed, cats like to sleep there. Before she arrived jeff tried to brush off all of the cat fur but you can't get the dander off that way. Anyway she is sleeping well on the couch and the cat crying did not wake her up.
It has been interesting having her stay with us. Yesterday, I explained to her that I was bipolar, told her the story of my first time being psychotic...she took it pretty well. She asked me why we did not have any children, I told her that I had a hard enough time just taking care of myself.... I have been spending more money on food(shopping at whole foods) trying to appease her desire for organics and natural foods and she is a vegetarian but eats fish so we have been eating talapia, shrimp stir fry, I made a veggie quiche the other day which was very good. Her mom and dad are still out of town for a few more weeks she will be staying with us until thursday I think. Then she moves on to someone else for several weeks until she goes to new york with her friends as a high school graduation trip. It is unknown when her mom will be back. She is recoverying from her mental health break down at her sisters in north carolina. Her Dad gets back from Iowa the day after she leaves for new york. Today is her only day off this week. She works at sonic. 5 hours a day on her feet 6 days a week. She is really no trouble. I told jeff it was his turn to come up with dinner tonight. Jeffs performance went so so this saturday when he played with the wind ensemble. He was not pleased with his performance. The audience liked his work and we could not tell he was having a hard time. I thought he sounded good and told him that. This was the piece that he performed in china, he said he played it much better there. I have remained alcohol free this whole month. Abigail shared with me that her mom told her that I was an alcoholic. I told her that I was a binge drinker. That I could not stop at 1 or 2 drinks but would drink 5. But that I would have periods of abstinance like this month when I choose to not drink. The only way that I can lose weight is by not drinking. And the 4 months before that...and the 5 months AF year and a half ago. I love to drink....it is just so fattening! I am more fun when I drink, but it is not good for me. Messes with my meds and I drink too much. 139 pounds this morning. WE walked in the neighborhood last night it was humid and I was wearing some jeans, I need to dig out some shorts to wear in the future. The jeans were so hot! Going to take a shower this morning, will have another cup of coffee to start the day. Last night I was productive, did a months worth of charting that I had gotten behind in...one month left. so that was a relief, I have been so unmotivated. The yard needs attention as does the house, cat hair everywhere and the floors need sweeping. My bathroom floor is grimey. I want to start jogging again my leg feels normal again. Guess I am afraid I will reinjure it. But the more time I stay away from the gym the more behind I will get. I need to take it easy tonight. I think I will go to the gym tonight and then finish my paperwork. It has been raining off and on, our grass is high. Better get going.... Thank you for reading! bizi |
Glad you are enjoying your visitor. And hope you get back to the
gym. Donna :hug::grouphug: |
It's nice of you to look after Abigail while her mom is away.
Good luck getting back to the gym. Our floors are needing to be washed too... we can always plan a floor-washing day together, LOL... when I feel a bit better though. :) |
