This has all been one HUGE exercise in patience.

I've decided to consider Wednesday as not so horrific and not a waste of time because 1) I had to make that visit at some point no matter how asinine the policy is and 2) I had to see my insurance agent to get the ball rolling ASAP.

I'm going to push the reset button again and try to regard this as just another step in the process and look ahead to getting my license back within the next 30 days. I've been waiting a long time. Waiting some more won't kill me no matter how disappointing it is.

There was another woman from my city at the DMV Wednesday who also got a DUI in NH and was having issues. She had visited the DMV the week prior, had her insurance, and actually had her clearance letter from NH, but was told that they needed 24 hours to process something in the system before she could get her license back. She had to wait a week to get a ride. I think she had the problem because of their stupid policy of notifying them as to why NH suspended her license, but I didn't get a chance to ask her if that's what the issue was.

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get my MA license back when I get my clearance letter from NH and if I pay my $500 fine. By then I'll have proof of insurance coverage in NH and a promise of coverage in MA when my license privileges are restored. To be on the safe side, I'm going to request updated copies of the 30 day letter and my driving record because both are only good for 30 days.
But I still have some concerns because the the DMV is so sketchy I wonder if they're going to tell me I have to come back 24 hours later because they have to process something in the system… what assholes.


In other news, it's too early for the protonix to start working, and I'm really missing the prilosec right now. Clearly it was helping me some degree.

I had an appointment with my eye doctor yesterday. The last time I saw hime I was having double and blurry vision in my right eye for well over a year and was starting to have it in the left eye occasionally. Nobody could figure out why. It turned out that it was the lithium (no problems since I stopped it in June). When I told him he was shocked that that was the cause. He'll be on the look out for it now.

I have a cigarette burn on my ankle that's become visibly infected. It wasn't painful when I got it (I have little feeing in my legs), but it's even painful to walk on now a week an a half later. Fortunately I don't have a fever. I'm seeing my PCP today.

I felt like a jackass for having to go to the doctor for a cigarette burn, but it's a good thing I did. It is gross. He gave me oral antibiotics (keflex), a topical antibiotic (silvadene), and took an X-Ray of my ankle to be safe. I also asked for and received a script for diflucan in case I need it.

I'm getting really tired of going to the pharmacy. At least I have a rewards card and get plenty of coupons for my trouble… :roll eyes:

We put off the food shopping a few days yet again, but absolutely have to get it done today. I know the store will be a nightmare. The sooner we go, the better. My husband is still in bed. I'd rather wait for him to wake up on his own, but I may have to wake him up. I hate having to decide when to do it. I always decide to do it too late or too early.

My insurance agent told me that at some point during the process of getting the sr-22 car insurance I need, my insurance carrier would send me a cancellation letter because they've been notified my license has been revoked, but by the time the cancellation becomes effective my sr-22 insurance will be in place…

Saturday I got the cancellation letter. It becomes effective May 20th. Hopefully that means things will be wrapped up by then, but I haven't received the letter explaining the sr-22 process yet as promised, and that has me worried.

I'm going to call my insurance agent today to make sure things are still on track. If there's an issue I need to know ASAP. I'll also be anxiously awaiting the mail today hoping to get the letter from my insurance carrier.

If there is a problem at this point, it's going to be pretty hard to fix because I have to deal with the May 20th insurance cancellation looming and this is supposed to be a 23 day process…

This whole thing is a mess. I'm ****ing sick of it.

I called the NH DMV to request a 30 day letter with a current start date as the hearings officer at the MA DMV advised, but was told that each person only gets issued one 30 day letter, so if they sent another one it would have the same date on it. Clearly the hearings officer had NO idea what she was talking about.

I called my insurance agent and asked her to contact my insurance carrier to ask if they are still going ahead with my sr-22 policy, and if not, why.

I'm glad I called because they never got it started. They wanted a copy of the 30 day letter my already agent faxed them on Wednesday. At that time she was told that the process takes 23 days, but the man she spoke to today said it only takes a couple of days to issue an sr-22 policy…

I hope what this man says is true, and it means I should be able to get my license back quicker? Or at least not be in danger of having my car insurance cancelled before my new insurance is in place?

There has been so much misinformation throughout this process I don't know what to believe. My insurance agent's explanation wasn't exactly clear to me because of my anxiety.
