Well it wasn't the best of visits. Even though I have a goiter. And have
had ultrasounds. He found two goiters, or at least that is what it
sounds like. I didn't know it was possible to have two. He was concerned
because one is bigger than the other. So he is having an ultrasound.

Also had blood work, and got an call this morning his phosphate is high.
So has to have the CBC I think they called it again in 6 weeks when he
goes back.

Otherwise good day with Derrick. And I was just worried about him. There
tornado watch started later than ours. But its looking like I wont need
to worry. The downstairs tenant had come the night before in middle of night to get him and the other upstairs tenant to the basement.

I'm sorry the doctor's appointment didn't go better

I am glad that Derrick's neighbor is looking out for him :)

Really eventful day for Derrick.
1. has two or so throid nodules that will have another ultrasound in 6 months to see if any bigger.
2. Then he and I went and got him an new dog. Its a chiweenie. Its a great
puppy at 8 months old. She told Derrick he has been through some training
as a service dog. I believe we will see about getting the things done so
he can be one.

Then Will and I went to his speech. Really should say batman and I he
loves his outfit. And everyone gets a kick out of it.

I hope that things will go well with Derrick's new puppy. He will be great company. I hope that you're able to continue his training as a service dog. That would be a great help. I also there's an agency that offers a free or very, very inexpensive program.

I love, love, love the batman outfit. lol. I can just see him. It cracks me up :)

Haven't posted on this one in a while.

Wanted to update about Will. I wasn't very happy with outcome of request and evaluation for AAC device yesterday and meeting. No written report,
and the fact that no one from agency that supposedly did the evaluation didn't have anything to say to me.

They know me better than this. Is all I have to say. I got so mad last night I couldn't sleep I'm really tired today.

Heehee, will be requesting Independent Evaluation.

Also he isn't Autistic according to them, at least for School. Will ask the developmental pediatricians at Riley maybe for new evaluation also have to decide. Wont change at school but that is okay for another year or two.

I'm glad you know your way around the system Donna...
No doubt that's why you were so ticked off at the results, but I know that you are savvy enough to get Will the evaluation and resources he needs.

I'm sorry that things didn't work out better. It must be very frustrating

Another who understands and agrees with my thoughts about the
device.

His private speech therapist pretty much said that an independent
evaluation is good idea.

She couldn't believe that they said, its just his motor speech not
working. She also agrees with me that there is not lots of odds that
lots more improvement will happen.

Is the device like this, Donna?
