Well what a whirl wind of time. Derrick rented a new apartment on
Saturday. Its really a great location. Right next to the big real
nice park n Lafayette.

They moved him on Sunday because it was pouring all day on Saturday.
Because of the cost at this time he wont have cable. But the internet
is being set up. But because of the bus and work schedule he will
spend most of this week at my friends house. Just much easier to take
care of.

But hoping by next week he can live in new apartment.

My sister's father-in-law had a heart attack last night. My mom
and I had my niece for the night. And I also took her to school
today. He is now in the hospital in Indy, having a catherization.

Life sometimes gives us curves. I took my mom to a showing
last night for a good old family friend. Really was glad I did
she got to see lots of her old church and red cross friends.

I'm sorry about the sadness in your sister's family. But I'm glad that your mother got to reunite with some old friends. That must have been a very special experience for her.

Dmom3005 05-08-2016 01:59 PM

Well my brother-in-laws dad got to have stents and a balloon put in
on Friday evening. After yet another doctor had refused. They called
in yet another. Who decided it was something he could do. So they
did it 2 or 3 hours later. Had to wait on a surgery area. Which
they were technically fine with. Just worried they would change mind
at last minute again. Turns out to be a blessing in disguise I personally
believe. They waited on right surgeon.

Donna

Ps. Its been a nice mother's day here. Got to see two of my sis's and
lots of nieces. :hug::grouphug:

Donna,

That is good news.

I'm so glad that he was able to find a surgeon who was willing to do the surgery. I agree that it was probably a blessing in disguise, and that these types of things happen for a reason

Happy Mother's Day Donna!

Thanks Ladies. I had a great day with my mom and family there.

Got wishes from all my son's.

Thought I would tell anyone that is on my facebook page. I posted some
pictures of Will's baseball league the other day. I can't figure out
how to bring pictures again on here. Or I'd post one here.

Not much going on here. Getting ready for Saturday which is District
Special Olympics. Pray we have a great day and little if any rain.
Warmer than last Saturday would be fantastic.

OhKay 05-18-2016 06:22 AM

I wish you could posts the pictures… I remember finally figuring out how to post the pictures of my candles here and they came out sideways lol.

I wish they held the event slightly later in the year when the weather was more likely to be dry and warmer for everyone, but not too hot… I'm asking for everything :)
I hope it's a beautiful day and everyone has a fabulous time! :)

Dmom3005 05-18-2016 09:34 AM

Oh State events are in June. I'm just hoping not near as hot as last
year. I almost passed out from heat stroke is what was believed.

Wont be doing things the way I did last year this year. Not near as
much walking hopefully. Just got good at parking and walking, then
they change the site we are going to. Hoping for even closer parking.

But will have to figure it out first.

But it looks beautiful.

I am sure that you will figure it all out, and that you have a very nice time this year.bizi

Dmom3005 05-22-2016 09:48 AM

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day. With just an little bit of
rain during the day. Rained all night it seems.

We went to the special Olympic track meet. The boys did great.
They gave medals this year for 1,2,3 place. So the kids were all excited.
Except Will starting out. He had no clue from remembering last year its usually ribbons.

I didn't know before I got there that Derrick was running with the cops the area before the track meet. I guess from a farm close to the area. He told me during the day. He and the other guy who chose to do it. Didn't want to do that again. But other than not getting a picture it was neat to know he got the chance.

He got 1st in both the javelin throw and the relay. And a 5th in the running long jump. He was really excited with his throw. So was everyone
else. He throw a 17 something.

Will got a 1st in 50 m, run because the kid he was running against decided in the beginning to get into his lane. Will stayed in the same lane till he almost ran over the kid and moved. The boy was moved
down because he was technically 1st. But because it was just the
two he got a medal at least. At state he would have just gotten an
participation award.
He got a 2nd in the softball throw. Thanks to the lady running it. Telling him to throw the ball at the kid in the field. Wow what a throw he had.
He also got a 5th for the standing long jump.

Oops I forgot My son's girlfriend went with me. We had lots of
fun and thanks to her going with Will for one event by himself.
I got to see all of Derrick's. Other wise I might not have.

Derrick and I are going to Kokomo to see my family tomorrow through
either Sunday or Monday. My nephew from Alaska is back home.

So hoping to see him while we are there. He is just 3 weeks older
than Derrick. So they have a good time together.

Had a great time. Derrick and I spent the whole 3 days there. We had a great cook out today. My sister and all 3 of her kids were there. Then my other sister and her kids all but one or two were there. Then my other sister was not there, but her grandkids and daughter-in-law were there.

My mom had a great day.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 05-31-2016 07:46 AM

It sounds like a great cook out! You have a big family!
I'm so glad your mom had a good time

Dmom3005 05-31-2016 08:41 AM

Yep, very big family. We were still missing about 15 I would guess.

Today is speech day for Will and Baseball practice.
Between time I'm trying to figure out what we want to do.
Glad speech is switching till Thursday next week.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 06-01-2016 07:07 AM

It sounds like it will be a long day for you two.

I was wondering… what plans do you have for Will for the summer?

Dmom3005 06-01-2016 09:45 AM

Kay

That would have been a great question a couple weeks ago. But know that
someone and her kids are living with Devin and WIll. I don't have him
as much. But either way he is supposed to be with his mom in
July. But we will see.

He and I do go to speech and baseball. Starting next week Baseball on Tuesday and Sundays. And speech on Thursdays. Glad its
changing, because I like shorter days.

The weekend of June 10, 11, 12th he and Derrick go to special Olympics State games. I will definitely be there staying in an hotel.

Devin is starting an new job soon. So not sure how much of the time
he will be there. We will see.

I just got an email, just to me from my Director.

I am getting a one time supplement. Its an enormous amount. As a company
we have been getting these for a few years. Since they discontinued the Christmas bonuses. But mine is coming this Friday to my account. Usually
they are at end of month. But our company has gotten so big they had to spread them out. Also will get a raise of 5% in September.

Wow.

Donna

Dmom3005 06-13-2016 10:12 AM

Derrick and Will did great at Special Olympics.

Derrick got an 1st in Javelin throw, 3rd in Running Long Jump and
an 7th for their relay team. They were in the fastest heat yesterday.
Which never happens. But they must have been really fast in the
trials.

Will got an 5th in both the Softball throw and the 50 meter dash.
And an 3rd in the Standing long jump. Love his sprit he informed
me then others that he won.

I had problems again with the heat so it was a short time at the track
for me. Thanks to the 90's and I believe almost 100 yesterday.
Friday they had to get medical for me.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 06-13-2016 12:41 PM

Yikes, Donna!

Wear a hat.

Stay in the shade.

Drink lots of water.

M

Dmom3005 06-13-2016 01:22 PM

Yep, Mari

Did all that, still went down. I thought I was better from last years
problems. But the rest of the weekend, I had to take it easy.

Ended up not getting to watch Will at all. Because of were his activities
were.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

Mari 06-13-2016 01:44 PM

Donna,

Did they say whether some of your medications make you susceptible to
heat?

M

OhKay 06-14-2016 07:33 AM

I'm so glad the boys did well :)

I understand about the heat :hug::hug:
I had problems with it when I was young, even prior to the MS. Heat stroke is not fun. I'm sure you were pushing yourself a little too hard so that you wouldn't miss anything. I'm sorry you missed out on Will's events :hug::hug:

Dmom3005 06-14-2016 08:50 AM

Heat has never been my friend either. I just have gotten worse again.
When I was a kid my mom kept an eye on how long I was outside.
But I didn't spend much time there.

Donna :hug::grouphug:

OhKay 06-16-2016 07:51 AM

Since your problems with the heat have gotten worse, I think it's worth a trip to your PCP to get checked out. I'm sure you're properly hydrating yourself, but an electrolyte could be off and causing the issue. Meds (especially cardiac meds) and too high/low blood pressure can effect how your body reacts to the heat as well. You're still going to be sensitive to the heat because you always have been, but hopefully you can get whatever's exacerbating the problem taken care of so you're not totally miserable all summer

When my heat issues got worse in my late teens, I found out I have hyponatremia. I've been on a high salt diet for a long time. I still have it to a lesser degree, but my blood pressure is stable and I haven't passed out in several years. My main problem now is due to the MS. Heat exacerbates my symptoms, the worst being the fatigue.
