Risperal is another antipsychotic right?
maybe my bipolar is getting worse?
meds can putter out but maybe I have not been honest with myself...maybe I have been like this for years just sqweeking by.
Not paying attention...being careless.
Maybe I do need a medication change.
I am afraid of the weight gain by adding another antipsychotic on board.
I already gained 23 pounds since november 1st last year.
But if I had a better medication mix then maybe I would be better able to diet and exercise. Maybe my motivation/concentration would be better????

WE went to lunch and had gumbo and I finally told Jeff that I was unhappy in general. That maybe it was time for a medication change. He doesn't think I should change pdocs as she knows me best whether I like her or not. Over all, I think she has managed me. I am the one who doesn't call her and do things(change meds) on my own. I told her I was manic after the fact this last episode, the trazadone mistake.
Anyway, not sure what else to do. I don't think therapy will help me.

We went to the halloween store and I bought a new costume(I had been a dead bride for 12 years!) I will be the mad hatter! black and white striped pants, checkered vest, teal green jacket, orangish top hat with orange hair.

I have pork chops to cook for dinner
WE are going to art walk this evening, and maybe a play tomorrow afternoon. Then dinner, friends birthday are gathering at a local restaurant.

Yes, since July 26, 2016.

I take a tiny dose in liquid:

0.6 mgs

In my case, it has to be taken with food to prevent stomach upset.

At first it was a little activating. Now it is neutral or a little bit sedating.
I take it during dinner.

For years I saw pdocs and took meds I thought were helping, but I was misdiagnosed and my bipolar disorder was completely out of control. In my case, it took something terrible for change to happen, but I'm still here, and it did.

Even though you realize your BP is out of control, I know change is hard…

The meds we have to take are scary because of the potential side effects. Not everyone experiences them, and not all meds to treat BP are linked to weight gain. Your pdoc might not just throw another med at you, but decide to add and increase the new one while phasing the Geodon out. It's hard to anticipate what they're going to do, but you have veto power, and they can take your concerns (such as the weight gain) into consideration when coming up with a med plan.

Even though you have a long-term relationship with your pdoc, I don't think you will make real change unless you make a change there first. She's judgmental and unapproachable, and that seems to make it harder for you to reach out for help when you need it. I feel like she should have identified you as a rapid cycler, and made the connection with your drinking, much earlier than she did, especially given your long history together. Familiar isn't always better.

I think if you can get better med control and find a new partner in your care it would make a big difference in your life. Once your bipolar disorder is under control, it will make it much easier to work on the other issues you are concerned with… it was for me

kay you have the best understanding as to the relationship with my pdoc and my concerns.
Maybe this would be a good time to change pdocs? When I am thinking about a med change.
There is some leeway with the meds that I take now. I have heard of people taking up to 320mg of geodon, I take 160mg...that is off label and I don't know how safe that is. and I have heard others take 400mg of lamictal.
You guys think it is safe to take 2 Antipsychotics? like adding risperdol?
I am afraid that she will want to put me on seroquel or depokate or zyprexa.
I want to come up with medication suggestions for her. I swear she has taken a class in bipolar in the past 6 months.
I am afraid of change.
