Well it is mardi gras season and lots of parades, festivities and partying abound! for the past 2 weekends.

That means good food and dance and drink and fun!
No parades today but one monday (lundi gras) then a king cake party.
then off for fat tuesday where there will be parades all day and tents set up with people barbequing all along the 3 mile parade route up to the fair grounds. we may walk the entire way. Jeff likes to get chicken on a stick from the food vendors at the fair. and I like to ride the ferris wheel. but the 3 mile hike back to our car is tough. We may or may not do that this year.
It is family friendly not like new orleans which is adult oriented.

Even the mail shuts down for mardi gras!

Jeff is off work monday thru wednesday. which is ash wednesday the starting of lent. WE are not catholic but the vast majority of the residents here are. and they will more than likely give up something for lent. a friend of ours gives up alcohol. He does so to prove to himself that he is not an alcoholic.

I leave on saturday for florida with my family. It should be fun. talked to my sister tonight there are items that I did not think about that I need to figure out.

I just ate the last of the halloween candy 3 small recees peanut butter cups. yum

It sounds like you will be having a lot of fun this week! It's nice that there's a family-friendly alternative to the oriented adult New Orleans Mardi Gras.

I can't believe that your trip to Florida is almost here! I'm glad that your sister reminded you of some helpful items to take on your trip. I'm happy that you are looking forward to going

I am a bit anxious about going. Because I am hypomanic I have to be concerned that this will switch to mania. Jeff won't be there to help me if it does. So I will ask my sister to help me if I need assistance.
I am bringing zyprexa if I need it.

Jeff bought a kellars king cake today. the best one in town in my opinion!
We had some, slightly heated up. yum!!!!!!
I cooked talapia tonight with tomatoes and feta cheese and onions and basil. It was very good.

we went to the parade tonight and afterward went to a king cake party....good stuff and people. It was fun!

What is the cake like? I'm glad you enjoyed the parade! :)

I've noticed you've been cooking more, and it sounds like you are doing a good job and are being creative :)

The king cake is like a danish. in the shape of a ring with the colors of mardi gras gold green and purple.
There is a tiny baby that used to be baked into the king cake and the person who got the baby was to bring the next king cake. Mardi gras season has been for the past few weeks, with the krews having their balls and such.
Kellers king cake is Filled with amaretto flavoring, walnuts and cream cheese, not too much though. IT is thin. Other king cakes are more bread like. one in particular is like a big donut...fried!
every one has their favorite. Costs range from $8 at the grocery to $20 at a bakery for a small one. A large one at kellers is $50!
Jeff sent a small one to his mom and brother and got one for us!
I feel like I keep repeating myself. sorry.

i had six slices of rye bread and butter yesterday. today I ordered more coffee creamer. I haven't developed a taste for black coffee. I also ordered a bottle of scotch and I think i am going to buy a bottle of drambuie. somebody mentioned a rusty nail at pt on monday and i am really curious. I don't know why I ate so much bread. I never have it in the house and I guess these two packages are the last. totally no control and total impulse. I even ate some butter plain. I hardly drink so I am wondering if i am looking for trouble. I am skipping pt today. I am just too tired. Yesterday I couldn't stay up for Trump's speech although I heard a lot of it this morning, I am going to skip the senior center today. I wish I weren't so tired. the doctor got my blood test and he didn't call me. I see him on the 31st. He must not have seen anything too bad in the blood. I am not sleeping well. I just can't seem to catch up

The king cake with amaretto sounds great!

Bobby, you are hypo/manic so that's why you are doing some things like buying alcohol and eating bread that are out of the norm. It's hard to sleep when you're like that, but that doesn't mean you can't get tired, especially if you have an underlying medical condition, like the stroke-induced fatigue. Take care of yourself :hug::hug:

mymorgy 03-01-2017 09:43 AM

right and i forgot about the stroke fatigue.i wonder how long it lasts
